Getting new stuff brings out the inner kid-on-christmas-morning in us. We unwrap it and immediately want to show everyone what we got. Posting pics is hard to resist. I have some Toytec springs sitting in a box in my garage right now. The struggle is real.

This. Figure OEM lasted me 200k, why go with anything else? Especially something that is a PITA to service. I have a fresh set waiting to go in these, which is good because I likely fucked them when I cooked it on the grill to 500 degrees to preheat them before my buddy welded the gussets.

Oh bearings were still in when heated them up? Did the parts get up to 500°? If so, yeah wheel bearings are done. Seems I remember reading somewhere wheel bearings properly set up shouldn't exceed 250 degrees or so.

Was reading that whole pre/post weld heat treating discussion. Pretty interesting. Piqued my interests. Gonna have to ask a fab guy that I know what his thoughts are. I'm just kinda curious.

Not sure what the parts actually got to, but they were really fucking hot lol I didn't have the ability to press them out but I figured since I have fresh sets of everything it didn't matter. Yeah we heated them in the grill, welded them, got the grill hot again and turned off the heat so it could slowly cool in the grill too. Felt easier and more uniform than using a torch.

The grill is a solid idea on how to accomplish that, much better than the kitchen ove:Dn.

Darn it, I thought if you bought them you'd be cool instantly, I didn't know I'd have to install them....

If you call Camelback and give them your VIN# they can tell you which bushings you need that way you will know for sure. I personally have not used the White Line but everyone seems to like them. I always go with OEM because that is what my truck used for now 244,000 miles and I have another 2000 model with 300,000.

You couldn't just use them from your old Tacoma seats?

Yes for sure, but my truck originally had the grey 60/40 split bench...I scored a grey center console at a wrecking yard and was also able to get some "oak" bucket seats as well. The 4Runner seats are grey so just ordered them up so I wouldn't have to take the tan seats apart.
I plan on selling the oak buckets in a few weeks.
