2002 Tacoma 4WD Build

Dang, thought I had some pictures of how I did it but can't find it. I'll take some when I get home. I do have this one, this is driver side by the battery.

 

Control box and ballast on the driver side fender wall.



Then ran the wire to the passenger side here.



Then the other ballast I put here.

 

Hell yeah thanks dude! Are those self tapping screws or did you find pre existing holes?

 

I'm pretty sure there were just pre existing holes. I don't remember using any self tapping screws.

Also with your halo wire lights did you make them come out the back like this pinched between that washer thing?

 

cut a small notch. You don't want wires pinched anywhere ever.

Finally finished my windshield fluid reservoir relocation.

Also took a trip to Sedona.



I'm also 500 miles away from my 95,000 miles oil change and get to put this in.

 

Nice update! I'm going to have to do the same with the reservoir relocation. The Fumoto valve makes oil changes even easier but it takes longer to drain.

 

Thats what ive heard about the fumoto.. Just looking forward to not dropping the skid every time hah

 

That was one of my reasons too.

 

Did you not drill a hole in the skid for drainage/oil changes?

 

My skid has a hole for the oil drain plug. Went with the fumoto since I'm in a condo and am not supposed to work on my truck here...F U HOA!!! Also, less chance of messing up the threads on the drain plug, or worse yet on the oil pan itself.

 

Nope, never did. I forget why I decided not too...

 

That would be a PITA. Glad my RAT skid does, makes changes easy

 

Looks like I kissed the resi on my last off-road trip... Gonna have to come up with another spot to mount before I hit it harder...

 

There really isn't a good spot for them. I've tried too many combos haha.
Here's the current setup:


They run at full bump and full lock, which never happens. So I'm not too concerned

 

Damn, thats a short resi hose haha. I know @Squeaky Penguin moved his up a bit more, I may try that... Really did not think i'd have issues with 3.5 BS and 255 tires..

Also interested to see this new spindle and UCA when its all done. You make it?

 

I know a lot of the second gen guys mount their reservoirs like this...



Don't know how exactly you'd mount the bracket to the frame, but it's an idea.

But I have less backspacing and bigger tires. Besides the sticker, I don't see any marks on the resis though.
