I've never been to Leatherheads but it's next to my gym & always seems to have a decent crowd on the weekend.

Haha. Best comment so far on my quest to get an exhaust reroute.

    Yep.

    Other comments I received.

This will void your warranty (I did that a long time ago) and it's blatantly obvious if you know my truck. I told him I didn't care. But it didn't matter.

I think this requires a special welder to fit in that tight spot. I don't have one of those.

Personally if they are going to try and weld it on the truck I wouldn't do it there. The weld will be crappy. Get them to tack it in place and then pull it off to fully weld it.

Whatever you do ask to see an example of their work first and then hold them to it. I asked a shop to weld my muffler in place because the clamps were coming loose. They said no problem and made a complete mess of it. Welds were the worst I have ever seen, they didn't go all the way around and they accidentally welded the clamps to the pipe.

When I confronted them about it they said all exhaust welds are like that because they are dirty and build up moisture which causes the weld to pop and not get consistent heat.

I finally took the exhaust off the other day and cleaned it up welded over their BS. I have never welded exhaust before in my life and it looked tons better than theirs, not to mention I had no problems with consistent heat or spatter because I actually prepped the surface.

Dang, they did a better job on yours than they did mine. Did you ask for the heat wrap?

Unless you don't buy from them. They'll install if you bough from them. They recommended State Street Automotive for items not purchase through them.

+1 for State Auto too. I just dropped off our work truck there to get a few things fixed on it.

Anyone know any reputable places that can either fab up a set of sliders or a place that sells sliders pre made in the Salt Lake Area for a 2012 access cab. I have already damaged the rocker panel on one side and now that I am gonna be getting my tax return soon I want to know where I should go locally (if possible) other wise I may take a trip to Reno/Tahoe to get some from Relentless Fab in the near future. I would prefer to go with bolt on as opposed to Weld on but I am not opposed to weld on, I just do not want to have to worry about repainting the welds on the frame and any rust issues that may happen. Also I want sliders I can use a hi-lift on, and be burly of course. Thanks!
