    @OdiN1701

    Thanks for proving the point that there are trucks that are having problems. Mine would be in 4th gear.

    So anyone else wish their tranny would shift just a little more often?

    I'm in the right thread, right?

    Lots-o-shifty anon?

    Then go get it fixed. More incline and I would need to give it more gas too, notice my RPM went up 400 or so when the hill got steeper. For really steep hills, yeah it would be in 4th to keep that speed. This to me is how the truck should drive and if yours isn't, something must be wrong. I'm at altitude as well, don't think that helps though.

    Already been to the dealer. Had the TSB performed. Tacoma is now "operating as intended". It is much more hilly where I live and that is probably part of the problem though my other vehicles don't behave like the tacoma on the hills.

    There are much steeper hills on my commute, I either have to give it more gas or drop speed. Doesn't bother me, I'd have to do the same in my other vehicles. I could put the inclinometer on and see how steep I guess.

    You should pull over, and leave that piece of crap side the road, don't even bother taking the keys as its not even worth the effort. I am sorry to see yota screwed you with such crap.

    Ok back to reality now.

    How fast are you driving?

    I'm averaging about 21 mpgs on my 40 mile round trip daily commute. I drive between 60-65 but also have a plus one size tire (Nitto G2s), a tool box with 100 lbs of crap and 80lbs more with sliders.

    Truck has 16k miles on it.

    I never felt it changed much just from "breaking" in. I got awful mileage during the winter regardless because I live in Minnesota. I feel like short trips with mostly stop and go driving I do average but long trips in warm weather it does great.

    This drive I was at 28.5 until I had to drive up a steep mile long hill in the last 3 miles. I averaged 68 mph and 8t was around 68 to 70 degrees out. I've noticed fuel economy goes way up for me once it gets into the 60s.
