The solenoids are actually a pretty good double safety. Both the on/off and direction has to be triggered in order for it to pass current.

    Shit on a black truck.
Just read a few posts of people suggesting it. The warn winch actually has an on and off switch on the solenoid that's for the transmitter to the remote if I remember correctly. Wouldn't do anything in the situation of a short though. Probably just overwrap the wires in protective casing and call it good.

I have a 4 way Blue Seas switch for mine but no winch yet. It was part of the custom wiring I had Helimedic make.

In an access controlled private parking garage in downtown Seattle. Police basically just shrug and chalk it up to life in a big city with too many tweakers. The truck is only two months old.

Sucks. Send a picture of it with the receipt for the replacement to the Mayor. Include a letter thanking him for fucking up the city.

Good idea, I wish. Good thing nothing was missing. Two other cars were hit. Maybe he ran out of time, or someone spooked him out of the garage.

When my bike got vandalized last year I sent the bill and pictures to Mr.Asshat. I included several photos of the piles of human poop the were gathering around my work as well.

That sucks big time and I know the feeling! My 2014 got the sliding back window smashed while I was at a Mariners game and it was only month and a half old. Same thing with police... they shrug it off like "meh... sucks to be you right now". Worst part... syringe and aluminum foil where still in the bed of the truck.

At my apartment at 7th and Westlake. I pay extra for a reserved, controlled access parking at my building.

Any tips or tricks from someone who's already been through this on a US Off-road mount?

    Are floor mats a mod?
Yes! 1st thing, take the winch apart, clean out the La Brea tar pits grease they use on the clutch, lube with some good high pressure grease. Otherwise it will no free spool very long if at all. Also you'll need to mount the solenoid on the side. Other than that, helps to have someone help with the lift and with getting the front fascia off the truck without scratching it.
On mine, it fit pretty much perfectly. Had to trim the bottom bumper cut out a couple times for a tight fit. Dremel with a saw blade works great.

Hoping to do my bumper Easter, then I'll have a US unit for sale.
Borrowed @JimSnell engine lift for the install cuz the new bumper with winch is 220#!
