    Im having a shop install a lift on my 2010 taco. They're installing icon extended coilovers with camburg uca's and ran across a problem. They said there is a bolt, 12 or 13 inches long, that can only be removed by cutting the bolt, or cutting through the fender. They cut through the fender (i have not seen it yet). They said thats what the directions said to do.

    Also;

    They told me the stock TPMS system is "straight", and the ivan stewart wheels i bought have a slant. So they "mounted them backwards" and said it wouldn't be a problem unless i have the tire removed from the rim and didn't tell the tech it's backwards.

    Should I be concerned? Please advise :(

    That bolt is the one that holds ur uca and they didn't need to cut it to get it out. They couldve bent the sheet metal remove it and bend it back.

    Didn't they read the instructions that came with the TC UCAs? I think it says to bend the inner sheet metal. You mentioned 3" hole. what is that for?

    some people bend the inner fender metal, and i've heard of some people cut the bolt off and replace it. if you look in your inner fender you should be able to see the hole they cut. it's right in the pinch weld in the inner fender well. it shouldn't be a problem. also that is true with the tpms deal. they will not fit correctly in all wheels. sounds like they made it work. if your light isnt on then your in good shape!

    Yeah...Cutting is a bit extreme...but if it worked and they patched it up...Whatever.

    No worries on the TPMS either- You could swap the type of sensors...but putting them in backwards works just as well and is cheaper...Just make sure you tell the tech if you ever have tires work done.
