At least one member reported premature wear on the CV Axle after about 7k miles driving on the vibes. I wouldn't personally want to go much longer than that. YMMV

I tried a slide hammer didn't work, so I made my own tool with some scrape laying around.

Cool. That's what I'll do then, seems easy enough.

What is the OD of the needle bearing? I'm assuming you went just under that for the flat plate with the nut welded to it.

    Thanks

Sorry just saw that I missed this question. I have not loaded it down or towed anything yet. However @Threerun did and he has plenty of feedback. There are some threads where he posted photos after hooking up a fairly heavy trailer with the lift installed. I'll have to search and see if I can find it. @GPsevinSixx may have some feedback there as well because I know he's done a few wheeling trips on his setup. We all have essentially the same except they're running Gen2 6112s and I run the 6112s for Gen3. The difference is not likely to be discernable.

what is this inserting tool people have mentioned?

I just used a block of wood to tap the bushing in.

It always hits bumps stops when off pavement. Under 2" lift won't give you all that much clearance at static position between the bumpstops (Wheeler's & Timbren) to frame/ LCA, but they're 100% functional as it just engages earlier utilized as a compression damper. The stock bumpstops are hard and don't do as well as some of the aftermarket offerings when you get some articulation in the corners, especially at 10mph+.

I haven't towed at all yet. At most, only had about 140 pounds of gear in the bed and 60 mph max on washboard roads and lots of MX whoops sections carved out in the California desert. Did bottom out a few times, but the bumpstops really help. I have the wheelers superbumps up front and timbrens (harsher) in the rear. I believe smitty went all superbumps in his truck.

Thanks for the reply. I guess that's a bit of an improvement over factory. I've never had a truck that bottoms out like this one. Even unloaded with just a camper shell, I sometimes hit the bump stops on paved roads with my factory leaf springs. Just want to make sure I'm getting better rather than worse with the install of anything aftermarket.

I think I'm still leaning toward replacing the springs entirely.

Probably a better option for you if you've got that shell on 100% of the time and carrying gear. Maybe go with some sumo or timbren stops before you fully commit to swapping the springs?

I'm not really seeing a purpose for that bearing tool.
Looks like all it does is provide something to hold while pushing in. Does it really help any?

It pulls the bearing out. Watch the vendor's video if you don't understand.

It's for install :) helps seat the bushing without distorting the shell or gouging the casing as it gets hammered into the machined hole it will live in.

The superbumps are like little pillows when you bottom out! Wow major improvement from stock. I have them front and rear, Wheelers makes a set that goes with the All Pro Flip Kit. Perfecto!!! Highly recommend!

I thought he was referring to the bearing removal tool.

The multicolored box of "roller skate wheels" are the Bushing Install "tools"

The Bolt and two metal plates (one short and one longer) are what you use to remove the Piece of Shit Needle Bearing. Use this first to remove. Then install new ECGS bushing with the pretty colored roller skate wheels :D

I do not know exactly what the Bushing Installer Tool/Kit looks like that ECGS sells for $44.95 or whatever it costs. I only bought the removal tool for $60.
