So just to be sure. I've read that depending on the brand some tires might rub. I'm about to pull the trigger on these but want to make sure there will be no rubbing. I'm on a '17 Offroad stock suspension. Going with the 17" TRD rims and 265/70/17. Will I be ok? After looking at the pictures and my budget I want these.

How are these on the highway at 70-80mph? I currently have 285/70/17 nitto trail grapplers but I've been doing a lot of highway driving recently so I have been considering switching to something a little more quiet.I'm also looking to plan a few cross country trips so the extra mpg or to by switching to a lighter tire is a plus. I plan on staying with the 285 size but in a p-metric.

Also just to clarify what I've read in here, there was a bad batch that wore very quickly but that issue was resolved?

Mine are pretty quiet. I was very surprised. Hopefully I didn't get a bad batch.

What tire pressure should I run for daily driving?
I've searched this thread up and down and can't come to a strong conclusion. I just picked up a set of these in LT265/75/16 E rated from a fellow TW member.
The tire sidewall says up to 80 psi. The shop that mounted them set them at 34 psi. My mpgs over the course of a week dropped from 22 to 17.5, babying the throttle. Saw the 80 psi and and I ramped them up to 50 psi. I'm averaging 20 mpg now.
What are your thoughts? Will this cause them to wear quicker? Is it safe? I also plan on towing a teardrop trailer and possibly jet skis this summer (separate trips, not at the same time like a train). What psi for towing? Thanks in advance.

They do well on the highway, when I do my road trips I'll set the truck to 70-72mph just to still try to squeeze some fuel mileage out of it. They are def quiet even after some mileage on them. I have a set that is wearing like a bastard. These def aren't the lightest AT tire I'll add to my P load 265/70R17 weighed in at 46 pounds, I have a winter set of studded coopers that's 6 pounds less. But they should be a lot nicer on the highway then the Trail Grapplers, if you like Nitto I recommend looking at the Terra Grapplers to

Alrighty yall, after my month long debate on tires...

I think I have settled on these.

I really like the price and the look awesome as well.

Have yall put some significant miles on them yet?

    Wearing pretty well?

    Thank you all

*cracks fingers in prep to drop some knowledge*

I bought these back at the end of August during the Labor Day sale from Discount Tire Direct.

I put 6,000 miles on them and wasn't impressed with winter traction so slapped on a set of studded snows.
Swapped these back over for the spring and now I'm north of 10,000 miles on them pushing 11k.

So I got 265/70R17 P-Load Tires. So tread depth starts at 14/32" and after 10ish thousand miles I'm now between 8-9/32 of tread remaining (Just did a rotation so the 8/32 came off the rear). Now I'm no grandma driver going to church on sunday but I'm def not Mario Andretti.

Since you are in Texas you don't have to worry about snow. But on the highway these are super quiet for an aggressive tread pattern, they look good (really the best looking sidewall I think for an AT Tire), they are pretty damn cheap, have good wet/rain traction, mud is typically AT tire traction (so-so), sand and dirt and gravel they are pretty good, but do like to hold certain size rocks and fling them.

My issue is these have worn a lot faster then others have been reporting. It's almost like race compound, really soft has been wearing like crazy, and I've noticed that theres some chipping going on from gravel roads (don't drive on a whole lot so thats why I'm surprised)
Legally I have like 6/32 of an inch remaining, and since I burned through that same amount in 10k miles I'm expecting to only get like another 10k out of them. Others have reported really good wear life though and there has been mention of a bad batch of tires getting out.

But they all have been wearing super even, they've hold balance since mounting and they balanced super easy with minimal weight. Always been quiet, and no odd pulling (only noticed it when we had a cold snap and one tire lost more air then the other). In the morning if its below 40 I get a little cold wobble for about 100 yards but goes right away once they get a little heat in them.

If I ignored my weird wear life I'd give these a 3.5/5. The winter traction annoyed me to the point of being physically angry at them, and they will let go if I twitch my foot on the go-go pedal (no both issues could be part of the wear problem though). Now going with my wear life problem I'd give it a 2/5. The 2 comes from being cheap and looks good.
I probably won't run these again and I'm batting ideas around what to do next simply because I have a spare set of rims now with winter tires that will need to get replaced so debating the ideas of just getting 2 designated sets and not have to worry about compromising tire choices.

I would say go with the LT load rating regardless, you pick up a little extra tread depth and should be a better pick. Now hope this helps, I have a very negative review on this tire, but there are others that have had positive results (which adds to my theory of getting a bad set)

Wow!! I really appreciate the feedback!!

I've been skimming this thread very lightly and have seen the "bad batch" term occasionally.

Pretty much set on getting these.

No worries man, I have a few reviews in the thread and a few tread depth and mileage updates.

My reviews have been fairly constant through it all, mainly just "Holy shit these things are wearing fast".

Bad batch has been bounced around since I think January when more people were starting to get some mileage on them. Its a little tough to get a read on these cause you have a bunch of ppl saying "great" and then you have a few ppl like me beating the "I dont like these" drum. I would say compare these to Nitto Terrra Grapplers and also the Toyo AT2s. They have a bit more mileage in terms of reviews. But these 3 are pretty damn close in price, tread design, and such. If I did it again I would go for the Nittos. As of right now I'm debating switching to 255/75R17 and going with Cooper STMAxx... but no spare money for the taco yet

Love the traction with these tires. They do seem a touch on the soft side. While not what I would call a 'winter tire', they did better than any other AT tire I have ever run through the snowy season. Mine may be wearing relatively quickly, but I would expect no different from a tire on the soft side of the AT spectrum. I am happy to take better traction over longevity. I find they hook up remarkably well in the wet. They have worn evenly and suffer from good looks.

I was dead set on these but then the more people that reported bad traction in the snow and accelerated wear I started looking elsewhere for other options.

My main factors were winter weather, looks, and price. I wanted the nitto grapplers but they don't make them in 16". Then I was considering the toyo open country but I couldn't seem to find any dealers around me. Now I'm pretty set on walmart Goodyear Authority tires. They pretty much fit the bill all around with the only drawback being walmart.

Figured I'd share my process since it seems that there are so many others in here looking for the same thing.

There's a thread on here where a guy did a review on the Goodyears, he got 55k miles out of them and had a lot of good things to say. I'm slightly considering these it's just the limited size options is little annoying. But yeah everyone's complaints on them were just dealing with the guys at Walmart

    TREAD UPDATE:

So after 14,627 miles and I just did my 3rd tire rotation with these P265 75 16s and I'm currently siting at a hair under 7/32nds tread evenly on all 4 tires. These came new with 14-15/32nds. I got a brand new spare under the truck that has 14.5/32nds on it. Just wanted to keep you guys updated on the tread wear!

    Thanks,
    Corey
