What are the pros to adding spacers on a truck? I have a '17 TRD Sport 4X4, is there any off-road added benefits?

Would I be able to run wider tires without rub or a lift kit? BBK?

I first put spacer on for the better look. 265/75r16's on stock rims didn't rub, but they were tucked under the fenders and looks small. Extending them out 1" changed the entire perspective. Now that I'm running 285/75r16's on stock OR wheels, those same 1" spacers give me clearance at UCA's.

So will I be able to fit 285's on my TRD Sport wheels?

Would I get any rub when flexing the rig or off-roading? Also, would a leveling kits reduce the odds of rub?

Edit: Do I only need spacers in the front? Square setup all around? Staggered?

All trucks are different. Only by cycling the suspension on YOUR truck will you know where you scrub.

Spacers make rubbing worse on body mounts and fenders

I just went from semi-confident on getting 285's, back to shitting myself about rub.... So would spacers and a leveling kit alleviate the rub?

No, spacers are going to make it worse. Getting new wheels with the right amount of BS/offset for your application, paired with a lift or cutting will alleviate the rubbing.

Do yourself a favor and search cab mount chops if seriously considering 285's. It is a likely course of action when looking to run that size

I'll just place this here....https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tacoma-lift-faq-guide-read-this.11282/...... Read this should solve your answers.

Edit: Cause you're probably gonna have to run a 3in with a CMC to run 285's unless you have proper Caster with your stock UCA's ( which you prolly don't cause you know they are stock) also the backspacking on your wheels. I know the stock OR don't have enough so a CMC is required.
