I drive with the Windows up sometimes to keep the a.c.or heat in

You still get wind in the cabin but it's not a tornado like most convertibles

I'd start one, but everything I've been building has been older than me, lol. And not Toyota-branded...

Plus it's not so much 'building' as 'rebuilding'

Noel, try the Meguiars wash. I used to use Mothers (and liked it I should add) and Rob turned me to Meg's wash. The stuff works very well, suds up more than Mothers.

Meguiars wash (yellow stuff, forget what it's called)
    Mothers clay bar
    Meguiars NXT sealant
    Stoners glass cleaner and RainX
Aerospace 303 protectant for the interior

I wash the wheels and tires with the same soap I use on the truck

Got my new windshield done today, OEM Toyota Pilkington, so hopefully this one doesn't leak.

I wasn't thrilled to hear they had found the leak and had to grind and prime to get the seal right (considering it's been two months since the initial repair), but hopefully it's done. There's a few nicks in the channel that wasn't damaged on attempt #1, but nothing visible unless you're looking for it. I suppose it's the nature of the job. I'm not thrilled about an A-pillar nick, but if they get the windshield to seal properly, I'm just calling it good, I can always replace the panel in the future. Hopefully in the not too distant future they put an A-pillar grab handle back.

Took the Vette out today, so that's exciting. I broke my streak of good Craigslist deals. I had a woman who wanted a VHS camcorder I was selling. She emailed me early this morning and asked if we could meet up, so that was fine. Originally the plan was 10 AM. She called at 9:20 and asked for 11, fine, no big deal as I was waiting for my truck anyways. I get to the meeting spot at 10:55 since I like to be a bit earlier and wait. At 11:04 I get a call saying she's still at the office and can it be noon. Since I'm overly nice sometimes, I say sure, and go for a drive in the Vette. I come back at noon and wait 20 minutes, no call, nothing. I give up and go to my Mom's for lunch. I get a call at 12:40 saying she's leaving the office now and can we meet. Nope, all set.

Fantastic waste of a good day off. I got my snow tires off, so I guess that's a win.

X2 on the car wash. I tried Mothers because people said they liked it and it was nothing compared to the Meguiars Gold Class

I've never had a problem with it sudsing up. :notsure:

But, I use one of those wash gun thingies, so that may be why.

I go to the car wash a few times a year. None of my vehicles are worth a full detail lol.
But I used to use meguiars products and klasse with my buffer.

Let me know how you like it, I'm debating picking one up myself.
Me neither, I actually liked the Mothers wash. The Meguiars product just does a better job and suds up better (stay suds up longer also). Definitely not bashing Mothers, I did like their stuff, I was just surprised to see the difference and they're similarly priced.

Gotcha. If I was doing the whole truck in one go I might notice, but I wash it by panel. Roof. Hood (and grille/headlights/front bumper, by default). Quarter panel. Doors. Bed side. Etc. They get a presoak, soap and wash, then a rinse job. Then when I've done the complete truck the whole thing gets another rinse and a chamois drydown before it gets clay bar'd and waxed.

I was selling a pool ladder on there for $225. Cost $400 and had a season of use. One hinge broke so I ordered a new one for $20 and kept it in the box. As usual with large items, I add that delivery a short distance could be negotiated.

Guy asks me if I'll take $20 and can I meet him close to Lowell. I said sure I'll take $200 and he said no $20. WTF..out of amusement I explained that the hinge cost $20, that it will cost me that in fuel and time to go that far, and that if he doesn't have a fenced in yard (which he didn't) the one he says he can buy new for $100 is not sufficient and can get him in trouble if he is caught. He still thought $20 was fair. I told him if I was willing to do that I'd have thrown it away at the recycle ctr across the street already. People equal shit.

I don't find it's that bad with the Tacoma. I usually only leave the rear window open an inch or two, especially in the fall. Maple seeds turn into spinning razorblades when they come flying through the rear window.
