    :/
Same here. I got rear ended when I drove my 03 (back before they started using plastic parts). The rear end was slightly lifted from the extra leaf springs so it lined up perfect when the stupid kid hit my hitch. Smashed in his grill pretty good. My truck didn't get a mark.

Damn Rick, that totally sucks! Are you considering a HCB with swingout? Looks like that would fix your problem.

That looks awful. That's a rough neck of the woods vehicle wise with Worcester right there. Good luck!

Look for un even gaps between the bed and cab, frame damage where the bumper mounts to Frame, cracked or warped bed and bent spare tire mount... don't ask how I know...

My cousin had a guy hit his lifted truck and the hitch just rode up the guys hood. Made a real mess of the nose of the camero but didn't hurt the truck at all.

I've been in the aotubody biz for a long time trailer hitches usually hold up very well in a collision. As for the car that hits the trailer hitch it can be devestating the car is designed to hit a bumper not a pinpoind impact area like a post or trailer hitch and usually gets way way more damage than the hitch vehicle does

No axle is fine, it's just the angle.

My wife was bumped into at a red light in her old 2002 Honda CRV years ago and she got out and looked and told the person who hit her there was no damage, so they didn't exchange information and it turned out to be over $1700 in damage....the rear tire carrier on the door caved the rear hatch in..I used to do bodywork and paint for a living, so just be careful and have everything thoroughly checked.

Trailer hitches on Tacomas do not hold up well, because of the bendable frame it is connected to. Other truck frames hold up much better in a collision.
