I missed their last show here and I'm still pissed about it. I'd LOVE to see them live.

If anything, just to see how the fuck Mike does what he does.

Oh Fwaaaa~ Loving this thread. Got to sub. Older stoner rocker (54). Kyuss, Ozzy, Sleep. Stoner/sludge?... never heard that term as a genre, but I think that's been my style all my life.

Sabbath is the original Stoner metal band..but yeah, thats your style..SLEEP! Matt Pike rules. They are in the studio. Kyuss rules. I saw Kyuss Lives because they broke up when I was 15. Didn't get to see em in original form

Love Kyuss. A friend gave Blues for a Red Sun because he didn't like it and I had never heard of them before and it hooked me.
    Have you guys seen this?

I'm loving this thread. Thanks High. I'm hearing a lot of music that I never have heard before. Here is the place where I started my stoner/sludge collection.

I was gonna ask last week..what metal movies everyone likes. I liked Deathgasm. I liked "until the light takes us" and all the classics (heavy metal parking lot)

Not sure if they qualify as 'metal' because I never really concerned myself with genre labels. But this song still gets me fucking pumped.

I was way into Helmet in high school. The fact that most of their songs were just ridiculously tight really appealed to me.

And Paige Hamilton is no joke. Dude has wicked jazz chops that surface once in awhile in his solos.

Yeah no doubt. I went to the Aggie Show a few years ago in Fort Collins. They were still tight

Funny story. When my wife was pregnant with our first, I had read that deep sounds (bass) will help the child's development in the womb so this is the album I played through the headphones on my wife's belly. I play this when my son is in the car with me and I always look to see if he has any recognition of it. My wife doesn't find it funny...
