Hey Everyone, I had the exact issue installing my covers. The plastic backing tuck and flip did not go well. I still have everything hanging in the back. I was really frustrated and tired. I gave up for the evening. I like the way they are looking even though they are not complete. I am tempted to just cut the plastic part off, but I am concerned with the material beneath will eventually start to creep up. I guess I missed the video on it. Where was it. I didn't find it at Clazzio.com. I only had some vague instructions to go by. I did see a Clazzio install video on YouTube where the guy did it in 5 minutes. I wish I could have borrowed him for my install. LOL That demo didn't really apply to my Clazzio covers on my 2017 Taco. I'll give it another shot sometime soon. I will post some pics of my mods. I am almost complete.

If you mean on the front seat.. it's a lot easier than you may be making it! ;)

Step 1. Remove the straps from the ORIGINAL flap, underneath your seat.. you just push on them toward the front of the seat and they'll unsnap from the metal frame.

    2. Fold the original flap backwards, all the way up to the back of the pocket. ( Really, you COULD cut it off, but remember, we sell covers, so these were designed with KEEPING your original seats intact.. in mind.

    3. Pull the new cover down, over the seat, and OVER the original flap you are holding up toward the pocket.. (At this point, you'll have the new cover, 100% covering over the old flap and you shouldn't even see it, at all.

    4. From here.. I STOP working on the seat back completely, and install the SEAT BOTTOM. You have to make sure the seat bottom is now completely done because the NEW flap on the back of your top seat piece, is going to cover over the crack at the bottom, covering the seat bottom access. Hope that makes sense..

    5. REMEMBER, the flap is the last step here.. and DO NOT pull those elastics super tight.. they are not designed to go tight.. only to reach down, with the new S Hooks in the install bag.. and re hook on to the metal frame underneath. You need the elastic, not super tight, because it's designed to stretch back and forth, still covering over the rear seat crack, as you bend your seat back and forth.

I really hope this all helps!!

After 3 hours and some swollen and painful fingers later, I finished installing my seat covers. I ended up clipping the oem plastic clip to the bottom of the seat. There's two small 1.5 inch metal brackets that work perfectly. As for the seat covers, the S clip was just hooked onto some random piece of metal. I was looking for a small hole, but that was the best I could find.

My only complaint would be the instructions. I don't quite understand how to wrap the strings, but I still got everything to work.

The only reason why I wanted a ridgeline was for the leather seats. Now I have leather faux seats and a moon roof for under 40k. The best of both worlds.

Got the fronts installed before I lost daylight.

Passenger side headrest holes went on fine but drivers side ripped a couple milimiters :(

@Ez2Tan thr strings should drop down in the opening on the back adjustment lever and then on the outside of the seatbelt buckle. Pull them through then from under the seat tie them together tight. I double knotted mine. Tie up and tuck the excess under the seat then pull the nylon straps tight running front to back.

Good luck!Removing the seat might be a good idea. The upside of not removing the seats is that they are bolted down and that gave you resistance while pulling the seat covers on. Once you've done the front, the back takes 20 minutes.
