thanks - I like the mad max look it has going on right now, but it won't be staying. Yep they're almost 33's 285/70/17 general grabbers.

4:10's. Feels fine. Just as much pull as my 2.7 w/ 4:10's on 31's

The truck I just bought is a 5 sp. with 4:10's I'm thinking I could put 32's on there with no lift and same gearing - maybe 1.5 on the billies and some rear pac's

already got the 5100's bought for old truck never installed, that and some alcans. have skyfuker aal's but prolly not.

If I was starting from stock I'd probably do the same thing too.

I think ride quality is important. I never installed the skyjacker AAL's but after reading about people who did I'm intending to sell them - well that and the alt-right affiliation I was not aware of.

shit, they might make my ride pull to the right! fuk that

lol that's pretty good. Yeah billy 5100's have the rep. My second gen was on a set of '14 TRD co's and rear shocks w/ a recall leaf pack and as long as it didn't bottom out and hit the bump stops (in the back - never happened in front w/ my low weight) then it was a blast to drive. Almost just as good on road as with the front kit that I have on there now w/ 8" kings, but that's obviously not what they're meant for. That said there's a noticeable difference with the kings, but having them only on half of the truck is pointless - I was going to match the front with a sua setup in the rear. That would have been fun, but I'll have to wait for that to happen on my first gen...

I like that stock worn out marshmallow tacoma susp. But it does bottom out on the offroad. I looked at my bumpstops the other day and there's like an inch of space there. I just had an alignment though so the billies will have to wait. By that time maybe these 31's will be worn out and I'll throw some 32's on. Maybe do some progressive leaf packs in back.

lol. The TRD stuff is meant for v6 trucks so on my truck it's pretty firm - I weighed in at 3900 lbs totally packed for camping and me in the truck on my last trip. Prerunner v6's start out at that weight and only get heavier from there so when my truck is unloaded it rides medium / firm on the road. Those bump stops though... ouch!

Time to hit the hay. Peace!

ya, ditch that MF. get a good plan for the 1st gen and work toward it as you can afford. I prolly better get so's I can wake up an' wrench on my junk tomorrow.

That's local speak for I should go to bed now so I can wake up at an appropriate hour and commence mechanical repairs on my vehicle.

Ugh my first truck had a 3.0 with bad rings and would burn through about a quart of oil a week :sorry:

The driver side cam ended up seizing and that was the end of it

The best cheap thing I've done was the LED back up lights on the towbar! They are 6.5" leds on each side of the hitch wired with an arb light switch to the reverse lights and a manual on.

These are the cheap 6.5" LEDs that I screwed into the tow bar. I got them off of Ebay.IMG_0438.jpg
