    Have you tried contesting those records on your credit history? Usually you can just log on to the 3 big agencies and contest them, and they usually get taken care of within a few weeks. My wife had an [unknown] hospital bill for $25 that went to collections. It was paid and everything taken care of, but it still showed up on her credit report. Logged in to Experian, challenged the record, BOOM, gone.

    I also went through the same thing with Verizon and ended up having to contest it a few years back. Eventually got it settled and it came off my credit in less than two weeks. Sorry to hear that.
