does anyone know what kind of sliders these are? They appear to have come in a set. The left side bar slider has fallen off so I would like to get a matching one. Came on the bike when I got it. There is a cap over the big frame sliders with an O-ring so it looks better than the giant hole like most sliders.

And BTW, I am impressed with how safety conscious everyone in this thread is. I really am not. Don't wear a helmet unless I go on a long cruise, no-viz stuff and I like my bikes blacked out. To each their own I guess.

When people start dying, especially your age, from not wearing a helmet.... you usually start thinking you should were it. Riding a motorcycle is already stupid unsafe enough.

I just picked up my newest motorcycle last week. 2000 H-D Softail Heritage. Had 30k on it. One of the cleaner bikes I've seen. I was originally looking at some mid 70's Harley's to try to match my father's so we can go on rides together but ended with this. Now if I can just get him to buy a mountain bike to hit some trails with me...:D

Nothing better than some father son bonding time. Don't miss out on any time that you can hold on to, it all goes by way too fast.

    BTW, nice bike

I think when he says "people your age" he means people that are your peers, I.e, people the same age as you are dying. Like I'm 26, so if a buddy dies who is around my age, it really opens your eyes to the reality of the situation.

I guess that would be true for some, but I have laid mine down, broke my back in two places and still ride. I wasn't wearing a helmet then and didn't change my ways afterwards. I have lost friends while ridding and it does not change my ways of thinking. When it's your time, it will be your time. I know my thinking is not for everyone and I understand if you don't agree with me. I try to live my life one moment at a time and enjoy the most of it. :hattip:

I've always worn my gear when riding from day one just because I did not want to live in pain every day if something should happen and especially after having my son as I do want to be here for him and to watch him live his life and be a part of it. If someone chooses not to wear gear that's their choice and I can respect that but I always will.

I wear a leather jacket and gloves. Always a helmet (its also the law in VA). I like my skin where it is.

I went on a cruise a couple years ago, and went to FL, where its not required to wear a helmet. I went 40mph, and got scared, so I stopped and put it back on.

I also think it might have to do with what style bike you ride, and if you ride in a group or not.

I will ride any thing in 2 wheels. When i ride my tiger I'm ATGAT mostly because I'm solo and this bike had a tiny wind screen. So i would eat alot of bugs If I did not were my helmet. I also ride this bike different than I would say my Harley. Im a bit braver around corners.

With my Harley, I has a large wind screen so no need for a helmet really, and when I ride this bike I ride it much slower, it has the lean angle of a battle ship. I also end up talking to other riders on the road, so the helmet is a pain.

It blows my mind (no pun intended) why some people don't wear a helmet. I mean Jesus Christ how thick can you be? I saw dudes in PA going 80 MPH with no helmet with their girl on the back with no helmet as well. Do you just expect to die and subsequently have your SO die as well if you crash?

I'm all for people being able to make their own adult decisions but it's just plain dumb to me. It's not like helmets constrict you that much. At least wear a half helmet, and even that is dumb to me

I saw a funny/dumb guy in Maryland on Saturday. Stretched/lowered GSXR1000 with a half helmet. Real smart dude

I'm a big advocate of helmets, even though in Michigan we don't necessarily have to have them. I've spent years building and riding free ride trails for mountain bikes and have seen enough accidents involving people who both have and have not had them on. It's always better to be safe in my opinion.

Anyone know who makes these? I took a better pic. I can't find any that match, they were on there from the PO. Hell, they might not even make these anymore.
