I put them on a switch so I could turn them on when parked for camping and unloading.

grey wire, buzzer yank, last click defrost, tack welded column, deckplate, intake silencer delete, led map/red overhead, led backups, underhood dual battery, onboard air, CS-144 big fucking alternator, big fucking alternator wiring, overhead rifle rack, airbag pistol safe, cab to camper 12 volt evap cooler, bug screen cab windows, onboard shower, solar panel and beer fridge!
That's the way I would want them wired. So they were selectable on like a three position switch. One for independent on, other for on with backups, other off. How did you wire them. I'm picturing having to run at least one wire from cab and put resistors between switchable power and backup circuit.

No seriously, best mod ever. I did the 2lo mod, but not that useful....

Second place goes to removal of mud flaps. Everything else costs a lot

I actually used the wiring harness that comes with the IPF 816 backup light kit from ARB. The harness number is H8161 and the relay was WA10. I am no wiring genius so I did it that way. It was pretty much plug and play except I used a otrattw Dpdt three position switch instead of the Arb switch. It works really well. Not as cheap to do it that way but a lot simpler!

When I was IFS, I'd say the best thing I did was put in 4.88 gears and a front locker.

Give me a branch from your money tree, if you consider $2500 plus labour as "cheap" :der:

haha. 11 years ago, it wasn't nearly $2500, but still pricey (less than $1k for gear and Aussie locker...labor was free). I must've missed the "cheap" in the thread title and only read "best".
