No experience with older Coopers, but the newer STT Pro is hands down the best mud tire for street use that I've had the pleasure of owning. With most mud tires, there is an initial "wear in" period where they can get out of balance. Run 'em too long out of balance and they never will ride well again. Didn't have that issue with the STT Pro. I'm almost @ 5000 miles, so I took them in for free rotation and balance (part of the deal I got) All 4 RIDE smooth. All 4 checked out (road force balance) as still perfect. They are light years smoother and quieter than any true mud terrain tire I've owned. (That includes KM2's) ZERO vibration from 0MPH to 80MPH (had no reason to exceed that speed!)
