I've been researching audio for my truck for months now. Getting a Kenwood double din for x mas. Now just trying to configure my amp and sub type. It seems logical to get the same brand sub and amp to me. But I was looking at 2 kicker L7's and one of their amps. JL is good too tho. So is Memphis and Pheonix Gold. Its really hard to make a decision, but you really cant go wrong with kicker i dont think.

I was thinking about the 13tw5 as well but decided to spend more on the Hybrid Audio Clarus Speakers for better imaging in the front of the cab and, a little less but still worthy ARC Audio Kar10 2/4

    Heres a few reviews...

I had a 98 Dodge xtra cab once and the original owner put subs under mini rear seats. I thought it sounded great. Seems like you guys know what you are talking about so here is a couple questions. When I get around to upgrading system, are the subs better to install behind the backs of rear seats on DC or under seat cusions (removing storage boxes)? Second question, I have blulogic installed with stock 6 disc stero, should I replace stock deck or leave it in and just do up the speakers with an amp.? I dont want do vibrate peoples rockers off their front porch but would like a real nice improvement over the stock system.

i have pics of my 08 double cab wioth the 13tw5 in it, will actually put up pics of both my amp and sub i guess,

i have one 13TW5 in a custom Ported box (half wood, and the port system inside of the box is fiberglass.

and i have the JL HD750 amp pushing the subwoofer.

overall this is the BEST subwoofer for this truck.

i ran a 1800 watt kenwood amp with 2 alpine 12 inch type s. they are technically a shallow mount but when i got them they were near the size of a full sub. took quite a bit of work but i got them to fit with a custom box on the back wall. i took the plastics off the back of the seats cuz you get about an extra 2 inches. banges like crazy!!! now im upgrading. cutting out the floor and dropping about 5 inches then putting full size subs in on my 1800 watts.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
How you port a TW5 when JL Audio doesn't have a ported box spec?

Thanks man. They are 13.5 W7s. I had two 13.5TW5's back there running off a 1000/1. They slammed too, but just did not hit the low low that i was used to from my last truck. I was used to a 12W7.

Benca1 I like what you did with the JL logo. Its subtle and classy. How do you Like your Alpine 505 right? i miss my alpine sometimes. I switched to a Clarion 685BT, its good too but I really liked the alpine screen better.

Hey good ol buddy ol pal, You have my perfectly perfect system in your truck. If you would consider giving it to me I would greatly appreciate it and consider paying you in gum. You know the new Trident Layers? Ya I think that would be an excellent trade.:drool:

:D ha ha yeah, I have some pics of it all cleaned up somewhere. I was so excited to get it in the truck that I started snapping pics before cleaning. I was without subs for a couple months as I worked on it in my free time, so I was going a little crazy. I'm running 2 300/2's under the rear seat for the doors and 2 1000/1's for the subs now. When I had the shallow mounts i had a 300/4 and a 1000/1 under the rear seat. When I changed it up I did not want to have to remake the carbon fiber looking trim piece that surrounds the amps under the rear seat so I talked to JL and got the Logo in the middle and made that little filler piece that lights up.
