My wedding cost me a total of $150. Traditional wedding, her parents paid for it. I paid for a "car" (Brand new Escalade from the limo company) to take us the hotel afterwards

 

We are getting some help, but not 100%. It's just stupid the cost of stuff. "Oh these flowers are going to be for a wedding? $2,000 then"

 

Unfortunately, her parents were married by Elvis in Vegas and got divorced a year later so she ruled out any type of elopement

 

My dress would be triple this haha

Nope, they are low vases hydrangeas. Part of it is there will be I think 20 tables so that just adds up. The price per each thing wasn't bad, it's just a large quantity.

 

Yeah I think we had 14 tables so that is a difference

 

Traditional here too. Only thing we paid was center pieces which we made ourselves and were pretty cheap, think like 200 total. Everything else was paid by our parents, mainly hers. Her dress was 900. It was a great bash!

 

Damn you people and traditional weddings.

She has 3 younger siblings from her father's second marriage and all 3 are going to be in college in the next 3 years, so that's where his $ is tied up.

 

You can tell a lot about who weddings are for by the clothes. She spends 3 mortgage payments on a dress for one day, he rents a tux.

And they all say "some day our daughter will wear it". Yeah? Why aren't you wearing YOUR Mom's dress then! You think her mom didn't feed her dad that same load of crap 30 years ago!

I have no intentions of ever getting married (or at least it has to be simple and cheap). Can't spend that kind of money on an event. Put all that toward your mortgage, pay it off earlier. More money to do whatever you want with sooner.

As for that 4runner - does the ladder swing with the door? I'm looking into doing a small ladder off the side of the truck but what sucks is clearance... (this is a longer term project I'm working on with a fabricator for a customer bed cap exo-skeleton)
