If you have a towing package you will need the 130 amp Alternator, I would use that one with the dual battery set up even if you do not have a towing package.

Clean off the terminals, if you know how to use a electrical meter check the battery voltage with the truck off, should be 12.4-12.8 check it with it running. Should be over 13 then. Turn the truck off and check the voltage to the battery cable where it bolts on to the starter. Compare that voltage to what's at the battery to see if they are nearly the same or if your having a significant voltage drop.

You said you have an aftermarket radio? Like sub's and amps?? How big? Do you run then with a good amount of thump? Do the headlights dim when the bass hits hard?

If yes. Especially the last one and you've on the same stock components I whojnd say like a few others your voltage regulator is probable bad. It happened to a car I had with a very mild system.

Defiantly get the alternator tested. It's very possible that you've worked the voltage regulator too hard and it's going bad. It can show a good voltage but the wave can be erratic and that hurts the batteries. Once it starts on it's own have a parts store do a full battery/charging system test

That will be the plan... Leaving work on a jump and gonna charge the batteries.. Then go through the whole system

So, I actually think BOTH batteries are bad? I hooked them both up to a charger 2 batteries in parralel on a 40 amp charge and didn't even bring the voltage up at all. My old red top I replaced which was still good just getting old after sitting for 4 month hooked it up and it started right up like cranked it so fast. Gonna warranty the 2 batts and get alternator tested aswell

13.8 volts might be barely ok in a stock configuration where you have a single, wet cell lead/acid battery. But it's inadequate with an AGM type battery. AGMs require 14.5 volts or more ideally to get a full charge. You have compounded the problem by having your stock alternator trying to support and maintain two AGM types.

What are you using to manage your dual battery setup? Is it a BlueSea ML-ACR?

    Reserected from the dead.
I'm gonna guess only 1 bad battery. It's compromising the whole system.

These AGM batteries require some special charging characteristics.

I've been against using these in our trucks for years.
