Yes sir , 40 yrs young today.

The competition was a bust. Long story short, work signed me up in the wrong category . So I just hung out with coworkers and upper management ate free food and left early around 11am.

If you dial in more than 1" or so of lift, you will want new UCAs. Not doing so will make it tough to get adequate camber when you get the alignment. Low camber=scary bump steer. I am happy with my affordable Light Racing UCAs.

If/when you pull the trigger on this stuff, I can help you with the install. At this point I've done it so many times I've become a bit of an expert.

I have the stock UCA's but only set the 6112's on the middle notch - giving me about 2" lift after adding all the weight of my skids and sliders. I have had it aligned twice and was within spec. I have heard that going 3" usually but not always presents probelms with that but doing less than 3 most times is okay.

I agree. 2" or less at ride height and unloaded is about all your stock UCA's are good for.

My understanding of geometry is weak, but what I have read is that as ride height increases, the amount of caster sufficient to ensure straight tracking and minimal bump steer increases. So, "in spec" caster numbers at a 2" lift may result in wondering on the freeway and annoying bump steer on the trails. My lift up front is roughly 2", and when I increased caster to 3.4 or so the steering was MUCH better. YMMV.
