Add fuel while running?

We Have a lot of cigarette smoking and gas pumping here in Florida, I have yelled at a few people I was like WTF are you kidding me!!!

 

Maybe, just maybe not a "stupid" question, but definitely red meat at feeding time in the TW zoo.

What is your point? Did you have a CEL? You must have.

Still, what would have caused a spark to ignite the fuel vapors? Energizing the ignition system upon start up has much more potential to ignite the fumes vs. Letting it run.

 

So, to derail this thread further, did you know that a cigarette can not cause fuel to ignite?

 

Yes, hence all my posts referee to fuel vapors.

 

In some states you can't even pump your own gas.

 

Yes, gas vapors have a Small flashpoint window but when it they do ignite, watch out!

 

Which is why you don't want to take the chance.

 

No I didn't. It's the fuel line that runs to the 7th injector.
Either way there's a chance that it can ignite. That's a chance any right minded person doesn't want to take.

For reference, I know that a striker fired pistol and an AR are both resistant to drop fire but, you won't see me punching the buttstock of an AR while pointing it at my head. Lol

There is the same chance that shutting down and starting the truck will cause a fire.

Might as well sit in a warm truck if the risk is the same.
