Im not sure what stock suspension travel is on our trucks but a 10" shock does not necessarily mean a 10" of travel. For example, I run 16" bypasses and have 18" of travel via dmz kit. I don't have any experience with that tc mid travel rear (I don't know if Id call it mid travel, more like limited spring under) but I do know it'll be a noticeable difference over stock. I drove around with long travel front and stock rear for a while and the rear was worse than most trucks with stock rear.

You could easily save a lot of bedspace (like I did with my bed cage) if thats your concern, but I do understand the appeal to having everything bolt on and the ability to go back to stock if it ever came down to it.

You guys got me curious over this camburg bolt on rear. I'm thinking dmz is the ticket though.

I'm sure the Camburg setup is great, I wouldn't expect them to roll out a full kit like that if there were any major issues, buuuuuuuut, DMZ's kit has been around forever now and is tried and true and works amazingly. I dunno, if I could I'd give the Camburg setup a shot now, but not if I had to spend the money again :D

Camburg ran that same kit on their 2016 TRD Pro Tacoma in the Mint 400. So i'm sure they're making the kit for your year truck as well.

From what I hear, Toyota didnt do any design changes from the second to third gen besides a beefier leaf pack when stock. You can do it man!

How did their kit hold up? They dont by chance sell a shock cage to go with it by chance do they?

They finished the race so I'm guessing it did well! Another guy I know races that bolt on kit on his blue tacoma as well and he says it works great.

I'm not sure if they sell a bolt on bedcage yet for the Tacomas but I'm sure they may have something in the works.

Right on. The leaf springs for that kit are made by Deaver Springs. When you go to purchase that kit, make sure to tell them what you plan to use it for and I'm sure they can have Deaver make you a custom set of leaf springs to accommodate that extra weight.

do they make shock hoops for that kit or does it mount on the stock one? I was looking at the kit online and it looks like all the factory stuff was removed.

so essentially without a bed cage you'd get the same amount of travel as the Total Chaos kit.. Hmm I might just stick with that one

I just saw your build thread.. Your truck looks good! how are you liking that LT?

I just ordered a +2 kit from Baja kits but i'm stationed out of the states right now so I wont be able to install it for about 6 months.

Going back to the rear this is my only vehicle and I'm new to this so I'm afraid the Camburg kit will make the rear sway alot.

I would hit up camburg and see if you can get their rear with only 12 inch shocks and if it will function similar. If it does, then I would go with that so that if you ever decide to cut the bed, you dont have to remove all the spring perches and stuff to start over. If I had known about the camburg kit, I would of probably gotten that.

If you're worried about sway, don't go Long Travel. Take your sway bar off, drive around for a while like that. If you hate it, don't go LT, because it's worse. The only time I really notice alot of body roll is when I'm whipping it around corners
