Never been to Seattle, but as a tourist the difference between the Homeless in Portland Vs. S.F. was the Homeless in Portland seemed to be mostly made up of drug addicts and individuals with no desire to work where as a large portion of the Homeless in S.F. seem to suffer from mental illness.

Portland is also the only place I've had a Homeless person try to rob me, big thank you to Portland PD and their timing. For that trip we flew in and out via SEATAC and the Homeless around the Airport were very aggressive, similar to the Homeless in Portland. This is very different from the Homeless in San Francisco or San Diego where they are everywhere but very passive. The Homeless in Denver used to be very passive, but since the decriminalization of weed in Colorado their numbers have greatly increased and they've become much more aggressive.

I have stepped in human shit before, you don't know yourself until you have experienced that. The words you come up with, and the things you throw are enlightening for ones self.

We had a large project one time near a homeless encampment, and the bums kept asking for water, so we were giving it to them to try and keep good relation or some shit. Then found out they were just dumping out the bottles and taking them to recycling.

This reminds me the time I saw my truck for the first time with no front plate holes.
After signing I walk outside to find that they had drilled thru the bumper to hang their dealer license plate.

I'd rather have a Trump sticker than a Bernie sticker any day of the week. Politicians like him want to train most of our society to accept handouts, then what you have are cities full of criminals and homeless. There's always tons more homeless people in the liberal areas.

My dashcam is very low profile and hidden behind the mirror. If the lowlife on drugs actually sees it and takes it, then there's nothing I can do about that, but it will catch the vandalism on camera, which is what this thread is about.

I've known people use their federal/state "social service" handout in this exact same way. Buy a bunch of approved recyclable products, dump content, get recycle money, buy 40ozs/cigarettes. 'Mercia!

I know the feeling op. This happened yesterday. Insurance is doing their thing. Some jerk with a screwdriver did 1100 dollars worth of damage to break my window.

Interested in hearing as well but does matter ? Break ins are somewhat concentrated near fisherman's wharf but the burglars are never farther than a 10 minute 2$ train/bus ride to your neighborhood, wherever in the city that may be. Sometimes dirtbags "commute" from the east bay to steal stuff/sell drugs etc because of san franciscos lax enforcement/prosecution. Getting caught smashing a window has different outcomes in, say, walnut Creek than SF

Here is a map, shows worst areas civic center and the wharf, and that, generally, the more urban concentration of the area, the higher # of break ins. For what it is worth two of my burglaries occurred in a "dark green" area

That's so true... a few years ago we had a "home invasion" while we were home with a dog... that looks like a pit bull but 2x as mean.

Summer time - first floor window open... middle of night dog is up and down the stairs (bedroom on 2nd floor) ... dog is barking like "I got him I got him" - I go hunny I'm naked can you check out whats up? hehehe Put shorts on ran down stairs... window now WIDE open and no body there. The dude had to jump out the window in a hurry and land in a patch of stinging nettles (grown around windows for this purpose) ... he managed to steal my cell phone.

Turned out he got caught and his MO was to get on public transit - the trains (regional rail) that take him to our part of town, get off and case the neighborhoods near the train stops. We live a block from the train station. Police got him but he had hit like 30 homes in our part of the city.. took a few months to catch him ... man I bet my dog bit him then he had to walk thru the nettle patch and climb up into the window, get bit by a dog them jump out of window and land in the nettle patch... ouch. That's a tough way to make a living.
