Here is how i see all of this playing out..... Dodge has made these cars priced low enough that some asshat that has no clue what he's buying can buy because he wants to say he has one. One nice sunny day he will take his buddy for a ride and while entering the highway will say " hey watch this" and stand on the throttle. The demon will accelerate from 30 mph to 140 on the on ramp and out onto the highway and slam into a family on there way to disney and kill them all. Now the family members that are left will sue dodge stating that they knew it was band from the track and where did they think it would get used. The wonderful government will step in and we will all be back to driving 180hp powerhouses of the 80's. We all lose and the horsepower wars are over.

 

I think they are referring to "production" as mass produced, and also excluding aftermarket manufacturers who modify vehicles built by someone else, ie, Hennessey.

Most, if not all, of the cars listed with more power are extremely low volume or built to order vehicles.

If you want to get into semantics, the Deamon would be a "Limited production car" by definition. This is now getting stupid trying to re-define, decipher or read-into a clear statement that was made, and was incorrect.

And that's the issue I have with Vettes. Ever see how many Vettes are in for "Service" Ive spoken to more than my share when I had a Chevy Uplander (yeah I know) and shiat! These guys were justifiably pissed at the lack of service after the sale of these beautiful cars.

You buy the car..but you also buy the (lack) of service.

 

The car is badassed. The optional track box is pretty damned sweet too.

You need to lower your expectations in here. Try what I do: Before I log in, I imagine being caught up in a universe full of shit with other dumbasses posting Spider-Man memes, asking about 14" lifts, laughing my ass off in the 3rd Gen comic strip forum, "should I fuel up while smoking on a cell phone and truck idling" questions, etc. Then, take all that, wrap it up in a large box with a bow and flush that shit down the toilet. That's the expectation here.

I am not blaming dodge. I'm blaming said asshat. Unfortunately in the world we live in its never the asshats fault. Blame the company that built it, the company that sold it, anyone other than the real culprit. And then form a group to go against the manufactures and how irresponsible they are, get the government involved and start the shit show. And it does not even require a high performance car to act irresponsible. This is what I am worried will kill these vehicles. Don't get me wrong, I am all about the power. 1000 hp makes me smile from ear to ear, and the fact that i could (if i had the money) walk into a Dodge dealer and walk out with a fully warrantied 840hp 9 second race car that is street legal makes me giggle like a little school girl.
