So for the last year my brothers tacoma wouldnt start. So i bought it off of him, and after a few months i have figured out a way to start it... For some odd reason if i leave the key on accessory for 10-30 minutes it will start... Now i was hoping to get some input as to what could be my problem. It is a 2001 tacoma prerunner v6. Thank you

    Hey Josh,

You have an ugly intermittent sporadic electrical short problem. You should probably check for connectivity in the ignition switch, and just start eliminating the wires. You might have to end up replacing your ignition switch.

    Good Luck,
    Paul

^agreed, there is probably something with the ignition/ground. almost seems that length of time allows the current to flow enough to trigger the start sequence?
