I got the tractor supply mat for $35. Cut about 4" off of the side. It's also quite a bit heavy than it looks.

This afternoon is really dragging at work. Hopefully there will be some TW excitement to take into the weekend. Those AZ guys have been quiet for quite some time now...

Proof that you're a watersports kind of girl I see, not sure how many people describe their bladder as "fun"

I feel like this is especially entertaining on a Friday when my system at work is being a scumdouche

Hopefully I like not having a sway bar. Snapped the nut welded inside the boxed part of the frame. I'm starting not to like working on this truck.

Luckily the bolt came half way out before the nut detached. I was able to cut the bolt off. Hopefully the nut won't rattle around in the frame.

Do they make rivnuts large enough if you wanted to go that route?

I just did a quick search and they recommended welding a nut to a piece of flat stock and sliding that into the frame if you have an access point and then bolting to it. That may not be a terrible solution?

Ok, ok, this was fun to read for a while but now it's way over the top.

I haven't done any high speed maneuvers yet, but body roll is minimal. Even on my city's finest roads, this truck rides like a Cadillac compared to what it used to.

There doesn't appear to be any way to really get in there. Just a few 1" holes. I couldn't even get the old nut out.

You're talking about the mounts on the front cross bar above the factory skid plate, right? I thought those ends were open? It's been awhile since I've been under there, though.

This is for the strap that holds the bushing in place against the bar, correct?

If you decide you want the sway bar back, any competent welder can easily attach a length of threaded rod (or even a grade 8 bolt with the head cut off) of the correct size and pitch. Then you'd just have to use a nut on the strap instead of threading a bolt in. :notsure:

Hopefully by the time I want to replace the sway bar, Toyota will have replaced my frame.

Same happened to mine when I was replacing my spindle. I like it, a little more body roll but the FJ always had that. Much more comfy over rough highways, off-road.

I drove through a construction site (sand, gravel, ruts, etc) and it was pretty smooth. I can image how much better it'll be when I air down the tires.
