Holy crap!

 

Aftermarket CV's are just fine for the type of wheeling you do. I have Napa's in mine and I wheel harder than 2/3's of this site. I've heard it all regarding strength and amount of droop. You'll be fine.

 

Which I understand the auto parts stores reman CVs aren't always good out of the box (I had a lifetime warranty on my swapped Accord that tore them up on the track) and half the time my old ones were better than the reman's.

But it's worth a try. Alternative is truck shopping.

Speaking of the ole rumble strip, I've discovered that the braking shimmy was never the rotors that i replaced. It happens when the front end is shaking and sudden braking makes it horrible. Which is why it only did it sometimes to begin with.

And that's why I'm ready to ditch it.. 2 years in the only brand new truck I've had and it rides the same as my 240k mile xj before i replaced all of the ball joints.

 

They do, just not very quickly and with great reluctance. At least depending on how forceful you are.
