Replaced total chaos uniballs and bushings.
Had to remove a wire harness to get the thru-bolt all the way out. Thank god for girlfriend fingers.

    IMG_0103.jpg

Also somehow managed to remove and reinstall the uniball snap rings using a screwdriver after my POS autozone snapring-pliers broke immediately.

If anyone in San Diego needs to replace their total chaos uniballs I have the press tool. You're welcome to borrow it if you bring me a 6pack.

A lot of those parts I would have still been required to buy. A Toyota front axle at this point might as well be looked at as a core if going SAS.

The boot may be ok but sadly the CV is done for... it is clicking like ratchet. Thanks for the advice anyway.

Basically what this is, plus a core charge for yours. Not sure on a send and return place.

I guess I really don't care about getting "mine" back, LOL. So yea replace it with a reman'd OEM.

I have a cheapo "trail spare" to put in there for now... Just need to find someone in my area willing to give me a bit of help. Swapping out tires today was all most too much for me right now (Shoulder Surgery is a B!7CH). I will get some pictures with the new shoes on hopefully tomorrow.

I thought about keeping mine and rebuilding for spares, but may just by a vato-zone as an emergency backup. Cheaper than core charge.

Last couple weekends have been spent building a belly skid for my truck.

For as beefy as it is, it shouldn't bend or break for a very long time.

Thanks; and yes, it's bolted on. Current hardware is temporary though.

Nice feature for weight savings when not needed.

Drop bracket lift and booger welds
I bet if you rebuild it you'll find it's fine. I had some that would click the same way and when I opened it up to rebuild it the grease was dirty but all the metal was great. These cv's are pretty fucking beefy.

Any reason you didn't weld the new cross member to the skid? The bolts look like the are begging to be mashed

I'll be wrapping the belly skid and IFS skid in UHMW later on down the road.
