Well about to bite the bullet on a new bumper and because I'm incapable of making decisions on my own I thought I'd ask for some opinions on the subject.

I think I'm going to go with Brute Force Fab due to the quality and good price. But now I just need to figure out what to get, hybrid or plate. I'm going with an overland build and I feel like a plate bumper tends to go a little nicer with that style but the hybrids look mean.

I think if your impartial to the design- then let form follow function and get the one that is lighter.

Wouldn't say I'm entirely impartial to design. I just want my mods to mesh well with eachother. Both have their positives, just more so want it to match what I have going on with my truck.

That's what I was wanting initially, don't believe brute force fab offers an aluminum version. Might need to look elsewhere in that case. Recommendations?

I'm not personally I huge fan of aluminum bumpers. My general thought is if you are switching to a fabricated bumpers it's likely that you will at least be planning to abuse it in some way. You would like it to be strong. The weight difference between the aluminum and steel bumpers is only about 50 lbs. That's not that much in the end.

I like the looks of hybrid on a prerunner type truck, but plate on anything else.

I have a Bruteforce Hybrid. Billy is a great guy to deal with. High quality product and reasonable shipping.

I have Mobtown skids. They're also great to deal with.

I personally would never buy any armor in aluminum.

I really love the looks of my hybrid, but I'd buy a full plate bumper with hoops if I were to do it again.

If you think you'll be knocking the corners against something like rock or trees - go plate, more resistance to bending than a single bar of the hybrid. If you're out in the desert or running at higher speeds, hybrid. All in your application I'd say. Same reason I went with the US OFF ROAD, wanted to maintain mostly factory look and don't plan to do anything crazy needing exposed wheels. Look forward to hearing your choice.
