I'm not tying to steal this OP's idea, but I can probably pull this off in my garage. I've been playing with molds and resin last few months for my coin holders and I can see this being an easier thing to do than what I'm doing now.

All I need is some emblems to make the molds. I'd pull mine off, but I know someone on here probably already removed theirs. If someone wants to send me their chrome emblems I can make some molds and try it out. In return I'll make you a free set.

    Interested parties can PM me.

Its possible OP realized the true cost of getting this done. I've been researching these methods too for my own projects and found the costs to be pretty high. This would also explain why NoxLox charges $99 per kit. Injection molding is not cheap, that is why you need to make huge volumes in order for it to be worth while. If you check ebay, there are lots of injection molding machines for sale. If I had a facility to run one, I would pick one up.

It makes sense why so much manufacturing has gone to China.

I found a TRD emblem laying around in my garage the other day. I have some new molds I need to make soon and I plan on making one for the TRD badge. I will post up here with results.

No update yet. I haven't gotten around to making the next batch of molds yet. Focusing on the coin organizer and its variants.

Sorry not sure how I missed the replies to this thread.

I actually got a pretty good price from a manufacturer in China, however it was a few grand out of pocket for the molds and I would of needed to sell around 150 kits just to recoup that initial investment. The biggest problem was just trying to trust a company half way across the globe. I had to send a money order, couldn’t use my credit card and have the purchase protected. I decided that the risk was much higher than I would of liked. I reached out to 2 places here in America and the prices to produce would of been 2-3 times higher. Killing all the profit and/or raising the price of the kit. I figured raising the price of the kit would just push people to keep plastidipping their emblems.

So as hard as it was to drop the project I decided to do so. I took my emblems off, purchased a new set and painted them satin black. I painted the ones I took off and they came out decent except a few water spots that got in them from a rain storm when they were drying while the shop door was open. This kit would of been a good purchase having all these new emblems in the kit with tape. My cost from the dealer I used to work at for just the front 2 emblems was around $65 dollars if memory serves me correct.

Wondering if you noticed paint fading under the OEM emblems? How was the process to remove them? Any issues removing the glue from the paint?

Unless you leave them on for years you won’t get any paint fading. The adhesive tape is a pain in the ass to get off. I removed my emblems, painted new one and relocated the position of them a little. I used some prop solvent and ended up using a rubber wheel to remove. Afterwards you’ll want to compound and or lightly buff the area to get any scratches out
