My dad almost had a heart attack Monday night, but he took his nitroglycerin tabs and got to the doctor in time for them to get him some meds and prevent it. He had 3 major blockages, and they put in 2 stents to keep everything flowing well. He's doing better now, but it scared us all pretty good. We're all hoping that it may push him over the edge to eat better and lose some weight like the doctors have been telling him. He came home from the hospital today, and my wife and I are in town trying to cook some good healthy meals for both my parents and get them started back on a healthy lifestyle. Trying to convince mom to not make things like homemade mayonnaise and saying, "Well it's not any worse than Hellman's," instead of saying, "Light mayonnaise would really be better," is kinda tough.

Thanks guys. We're really thankful that he didn't have to have bypass surgery like he did 15 years ago. The whole stent procedure was really quick and relatively painless. There was definitely a silver lining in thew whole things.

My Dad had a stent put in a few years ago. He's been running like a nut ever since. :) He made a great recovery, and now, when we are at Home Depot together, IM the one who gets out of breath from chasing him thru the place. ;)
