    3 things.

    1. Never ever ever buy a black car. It's my favorite color on a car but never again!!

    2. Buy slightly used. You save money and most likely already scratched so you don't feel that bad.

    3. Buy a power washer. Wash her down after each trip on the trail.

What percent tint do you have?

OP. My taco can't fit in my garage so it stays on the driveway...collecting layers of dust and pollen lol

    LOL!

OP when I read your post it reminds me of my fear of door dings in crappy parking lots. I honestly will cancel my errands to a store if the parking lot is too full! Sounds crazy but I will loose my mind if I get a door ding right now.

With my other truck before my Taco, I had it for a couple of years before it's first scratch. Got it when I had to get a safety inspection and the fat mechanic ground his friggin belt buckle into my door. I just got touch up paint and I felt better. In all fairness that was the first vehicle I bought brand new.

You will eventually get to a point where the energy of caring so much will wear you down until you stop caring. Former wives have this affect as well o_O.

At one time I had a 1989 F350 crew cab long bed in black, longest and largest I ever owned.. When I washed that truck, by the time I got the back end dry the front end was already dirty again, I swore off black for the next one and my Super Duty was white..

I don't care about my trucks to much, but when I had my black Challenger I used Turttlewax Jet Black detailer. I'm sure it was some polymer crap, but it worked awesome to remove scratches and swirls, and dust would literally fall off. You can put it on anything, glass plastic rubber, and I could do the whole car in 10min, Brake dust fell right off as well. I carried a Ca duster and it always looked good.

These trucks in black look rad, who seriously gives a shit about having a dirty 4x4 truck... It's not a god damn vintage ferrari.

I have washed mine once, laughed and said yeap f it, havent washed it for about a month and its filthy it looks like a rally truck.

Also it's got scratches, some how it had one on the driver door within an hour of me owning it:mudding:

I dont hate any of the colors on this truck, but I also do not "love" any of the colors... Which is why I chose black.... Nothing stands out, quicksand would get old in 10 years of owning it, same with inferno, colors change and styles change.... Black is always in style....If they had the dark green they offered around 2013? It would have for sure been dark green.

I'm surprised they don't have green. Olive drab would be awesome.

I like this Duragloss Aquawax... It makes my black shine so much I'm considering not even waxing it from here on out. I like this stuff so much I bought a gallon after the 1st time I dried my truck using this stuff.

I won't even consider a vehicle unless it's white... unless it's a really really great deal. White does not show clear coat scratches and rarly turns the clear coat milky white or flake off my 93 was white and it still had a shine on it the day I sold it 23 yrs later. Also no problem finding touch up paint. That's why I always say, If it ain't white... Well you know..you probably got a really good deal on it.

Since I've bought my truck, the most I've done is go to a self service car wash station, power rinse it, use soap brush, the power rinse it again. Costs $4 total. My first owning the truck I used to clean the rims with a cloth to remove the brake dust, but after that I don't even bother anymore.

I used to wash my truck every week that first year, now I go a year without washing it. I just wait for it to rain to drive around. Seems to clean it just fine.

The Reason you don't see you're clear coat Scratched is because there is no clear coat on white, It's a single stage paint...

Nice! Gives me a hard on just thinking about getting mine done. Sweet!

Does he throw rocks at it just because he can and it won't hurt it? I would park close to the front door at Walmart if I had mine done.
