So I ordered a new TPS sensor and of course it didn't fit....my fault for ordering from Amazon...I also attempted to adjust my throttle cable because I felt there was a little to much play in it...and now it idles way too high 2000 rpms ....I keep trying to adjust it and I can't seem to get it back to that sweet spot. It doesn't seem to have a lot of play but I can't get it to idle lower.??

The idle is non-adjustable, its controlled by the computer and the Idle Air Control Valve.
I don't think your truck even has a throttle cable, it likely has fly-by-wire (electronic throttle).

I believe you are in over your head, and should take it to a trusted professional mechanic.

first, there is still a throttle cable.

second, if the cable was adjusted too much you are now telling the ECM that the throttle is engaged, making it rev higher.

back off the cable until there is slack again. it's designed this way for a purpose.

the idle should be handled by the ECM (or IAC valve in pre-03).

Yes thank you there is a throttle cable, after fiddling with it for a bit I realized that the throttle cable runs through the throttle body and connects to the tps sensor it needed to be on there just right I removed it and reinstalled it a couple times till I found the right fit and it now runs like a champ. I am prob in up to my neck but how else do you learn. ✌

nice work. also next time you can just loosen the screws on the rear TPS as it will only fit on a certain way. with it loose you can "turn" it until you get the desired effect. :)
