    all tore up already
Just because you hit the trails and dirty her up doesnt mean you cant still wash her inbetween. Did my semi-annual paint repair after a trip though the woods the other day20170411_161120.jpg
Added a few nice pinstripes to add to the last 6 months collection. But to all who say you cant polish a TuRD

I've been thought the car wash twice with my New Taco. Can already see the swirls in the paint. Never again.

This thread inspired me to finally wash mine... No soap, no spray, nothing but a microfiber mit and a shammy.

I've owned 3 black cars to this point and love how freshly washed/waxed car looks with its mirror finish but if the goal is to off-road I wouldn't choose black. If I had a 2wd sport taco then I would have chosen black for sure.

I'm not a huge fan. I think it looks ok and first, then the fade starts to set in, I heard somewhere it's like 500lbs of bedliner o_O

I like when its done on the quarters or for fender flares, not so much the whole truck though.

That looks like a clean job!

I'm considering getting mine done as well. Does it take a polish well?

Does the bed liner polish? I believe they have a UV protectant you can put on it.

Yeah man, it's not my style either but when you look at the truck in person it's pretty frickin cool. Just not $5000 cool hahaha. I wouldn't spend that kinda money on a paint job.

You need to do some research dude...

"LINE-X will fade" - False, We have the answer for fading and it is called LINE-X PREMIUM. Premium couples the abrasion and impact protection you already trust with the UV protection your vehicle needs to stay new-looking forever. LINE-X Xtra is our UV stable option for doing your vehicle in color.

"LINE-X will add like 500 lbs" - False, We spray exteriors around 65mils on average. At that thickness you achieve the tough coating you want and don't add a significant amount of weight. Less than 90 lbs on average for a full size vehicle completely sprayed. About as much weight as your cooler stocked with "sodas" and ice.

"LINE-X is expensive" - False, When you consider we are doing as much work as what a paint shop would do as far as masking and removing parts from your vehicle. Than consider the durability of the product VS paint. We are cheaper than a paint job. Most exterior spray jobs fall between $3,500-$5,000.

Point taken. I'm sure the stuff has gotten better over the years, I'm just going off of the Line X in the bed of my Cummins, awesome stuff, but after 5 years it isn't as pretty as it was when new.

I never said it was more expensive than regular paint. I know that if you're going to paint your entire truck a completely different color than it came from the factory, it's going to be expensive. Absolutely there is a lot of labor involved! All I was saying is that it's not my style. Me personally, I wouldn't spend $5,000 on any paint job. Unless I needed to for some reason

3rd black truck. My first vehicle was a new 78 Chevy Luv Mikado. Had a black Tundra and now a TRD SPORT. I wash when I can right now it looks like big bummble bee from pollen. But its still my favorite. So now its official everybody knows I'm crazy:yes:

Looks like mine but we are getting a little rain at at the moment. Hope it washes it all off. Freaking sweet gum trees are bad. The pollen pods are falling all over it with the rain. I have been looking at the weather web site trying to plan my next truck wash and dry. Like to polish it but not while the pollen is flying around.

Pollen sucks! And I'm pretty sure it's turns acidic as it heats up and breaks down on the surface of paint. I've been spraying my car down every other day between weekly washes.

I own 3 black vehicles right now and it's great. I don't baby them but they get washed weekly. I don't find them too difficult to care for because I'm happy with a little less than per perfection. Wax 4x a year and all is well.
