As soon as I installed my 1.5" lift it started giving me problems. You can drive on it for awhile but eventually you'll need to fix if/when it goes out.

    #1 and #3 above suck

5100s are valved the same as the OR Bilsteins... but are taller longer thro so you can get taller springs.

I have 5100s with 885s upfront with a 1/4" spacer driver side, 5100s and Icon AAL's in the rear. Ride is awesome on the highway AND off road. That's a hair over 2" of lift for me.

Looks like you already ordered something, but I was going to suggest getting the OME 884 or 885 and Bilstein 5100s and a three leaf AAL. Personally I have OME 885s, with 5100s on all four corners, and a Wheeler's 2" AAL on my Second Gen TRD OR and "The Plan" for my third gen is 6112s front and 5160s rear.

I just took mine off to replace with OME. Less than 2000 miles. None off-road. From 2017 TRD OR. I know they'll be expensive to ship though. Maybe we can work out something.

What lift does this setup gain you? With it is there a way to maintain near factory rake?

I run the 6112s on the 4th setting (about 2" lift in the front) and 5160s in the rear. I bought the Headstrong AAL you ordered but decided I like the stance of the truck so the AAL is sitting in the box for now. Really close to level. Not sure if the results would be different on the 3rd gen. You made a good choice OP.

Please provide lift specs and quality. Been a month now and still can't find a lift that'll be close to 3" and what tires to choose!

Question for ya - I want to do a 2" lift for my TRD OR, but actually like the floaty ride that these stock bilsteins provide. Searched the forums for lifting the TRD OR's but can't find a definitive way to do a lift while keeping the stock bilsteins. Has anyone kept the stock OR bilsteins and upgraded the coils? Or is it better to upgrade the entire coilover with new AAL's? I really don't want to spend $1.2 - $1.5K on an OME setup if not needed. Thanks in advance.

I'm not saying the needle bearing problem isn't real, but I have had two different suspension setups at three different ride heights on my '16 Off-Road now and have never had a bit of vibration.

To lift you're going to change the ride characteristics.

I believe you, and I deserve a little luck. I'll take it. Just trying not to scare everyone with the needle bearing stories.

I think it just needs to be something you should expect. If you don't get it great. But if you do and you didn't plan for it, you're going to be out of pocket more time and money.

I had an OME setup for about a year. 885's are going to lift a '16-'17 Tacoma quite a bit up front. And a full Dakar pack even more in the rear. OME 90000's are valved really high and do ride very stiff if you don't have additional weight (bumper/winch) but they're great shocks off-road.

I did like the feel of the stock Bilstein setup on my OR, but that only lasted a couple of months.

And at least people have that common issue as a reference point if they get vibration. I was concerned about it, for sure.

You aren't going to lift the truck and keep that same floaty feeling suspension. Just not going to happen.

I recommend the 6112/5160 setup in my sig. I did a write up on it.
