Well alignment specs are in. Drives good and more on track than previous. Camber and caster instructions were given.

Unfortunately I have that drone/resonate/ /vibration still at about 60 -80 km. Hard to explain sound but closest thing I can think of is like something stuck on one side of the washing machine. Strange analogy but its not a vibe that is constant. Almost feels like a wobbly wheel..... although I've never had one.
I locked it in and out of 4 wheel to see if that would help narrow it down and sure enough vibe was gone.

I'm going to re torque everything this weekend after a few miles.

Are you thinking a needle bearing?

No. It was fine before I installed lift. I'm hoping it's a retourque somewhere, a wheel balance issue, or I mite try the diff drop washer / spacer kit.
That's all I got for now until someone with more experience can chime in.

And to be clear this is not the diff howl that half of us have from the rear end. I had that before and still have it. This is now a front end issue that wasnt present before lift.

That's a bit unusual. Your toe was perfect after the lift?

Caster is a bit low, but that might have been all they could get with stock upper arms.

Good luck. I'm looking forward to hearing what the fix was. Just trying to gather as much info as I can before installing my 887s.

well if locking it into 4x4 is any indication of what area was affected, I have a feel it's something to do with the re-assembly of the lower knuckle. also- from my research, I think you could encounter this type of issue any time you lift IFS. I think even if I had done just the 5100's notched to the middle, I would have a chance at the same issue. So dont let the 887s scare you off. Im super happy with mine, it rides much better now.

Im going to retorque everything after a few miles and re inspect and if it persists im going to get the drop spacer. Im also going to rotate tires as well to try and eliminate wheel/tire issue.
After driving about 125 km since the alignment I can say its less noticeable than immediately after my back yard install. Its also not an obviously apparent sound (not that loud), but we all know how OCD we can get about our Taco ! :annoyed: And I dont think Im nearly as obbsessive as some, especially when it comes to the rear diff howl.

Oh you adjusted it before you brought it in? Just curious, what method did you use to get it so damn good??

My extremely accurate laser beam eye balls....honed to perfection after 3 beers.

Nah, honestly I tried to disrupt as little as possible and reassemble everything as it was. Except for, as I mentioned the right side, I backed out the control arm bolts a little more than neccessary.

so as I mentioned in earlier posts there is now a front end vibe from about 50-80 km/h which seems to be pretty common with this kind of lift . even after alignment it's still there- so doing a bit of research I found a few things Im going to try:

    1-retorque everything, check assembly
    2-rotate tires/wheels
3-the front diff drop kit (last option)

I found it interesting a thread theory saying the diff bearings "are bad" from the factory and only exaggerated once lifted. Or damage to the CV's and boots occurred when disconnecting the lower spindle bolts and stretching the joint. Id like to think its the later of the two, which I can see being feasable.

    So- my question:

Wouldn't swapping the cv axle that was affected fix the vibe? Anyone try this? I don't even want to begin messing with anything inside the diff regarding the so called bad bearings...

There is an extremely good chance it's your needle bearing. It just happened to me after installing my 887s. When you get the vibe put it in 4wd if it goes away you have a bad needle bearing. You can install the ecgs bushing to cure this. Installing this is not like your ripping apart the front diff. You basically pull the cv shaft and remove the bearing that supports the shaft and replace it with a bushing.

Don't know if you read thru this thread but it has a ton of info. I'm getting ready to do my bushing friday.

Really good info thanks. And only read 3 pages of it so far lol. Looks like that's my route.
It definitely comes and goes with 4x4 on/ off.

Now the question is install.... me or a shop

If I remember correctly you installed your lift. I'd think if you are mechanically inclined enough to do that you could do the bushing.

You are correct - and thanks for vote of confidence lol. I definitely need it. I watched the video from the supplier on youTube and it didnt seem too bad-the only thing that threw me off was the tool he made

Looks like ill need that bearing.... you were on the money.
Going from 4x4 to 4x2 the vibe disappears. Everyone seems to say the same thing and replacement solves it.

All signs are pointing to the ECGS bushing replacement.

It took my vibe away. I just drove about 150 miles today with no vibration at all.
