Strange bc I did mine and it turned out fine. Maybe it reacted to chemicals used to clean them prior to you spraying them...??

I would say this is probably the case I did the grill at the same time used dish soap to clean it up and everything went great
I decided to do the centre cap emblems once I knew I had enough white left over

I used spray 9 to clean the centre caps followed by rubbing alcohol. I popped the emblems out of the centre caps this morning after washing them and there was a bunch of water underneath the emblem. More than likely had a bunch of spray 9 sitting under it mixing with the flexi dip. I didn't pop them out yesterday because I was afraid of breaking the little tabs that hold them in place which I didn't today lol

Thanks for this!! I paid off my taco and have been contemplating between buying rims or just painting my stock ones, will probably do black and paint the toyota logo gloss red for that pop of color. looks great!

Dipped my bumper caps and grill surround. Quick easy cheap fix to cover up all the chrome.

Your OEM grille in my opinion is the next best thing to a TRD pro grille. I didn't like my OR grille at all.

Buy it and tell your wife it's 50% off! :)

Guys, are there any pics of dipped grills with some miles and time on them? They all look great new but I am wondering how they are holding up over time.

    Thanks.

Dipped the outer grill black and the emblem white, came out looking great. Kinda don't want to get the TRD Pro grill anymore :)

I did my entire grille and the outer ring a year ago and it's got
12.6K on it, no chips....nothing. Looks like I just did it.

Dude! Your taco looks awesome! How long did it take you to do all four fenders and the lower front bumper?

Thanks man, about 3 hours or so using a masker for home painting from home depot. Don't have to mask off perfectly just peel around trim and it cuts itself perfectly.

3 hours including the prep stage? Lastly did you have to do any sanding of any sort? Just want to be 100% sure with the process

No sanding necessary. Just make sure the surface is clean and completely dry before applying plastidip. I just dipped the grill on my Limited model. I didn't undo the grill/clips from the colored surround. On my other car I've done wheels and emblems. Really hard to mess up with plastidip.

3 hours total. Prep took 15 mins no sanding, paint one flare move on to the next and by the time you do all 4 your ready for the next coat immediately.

I masked about 1-2 inch away from the flare/bumper trim and peeled all excess 15 mins after last coat.

Masker I used to make prep so fast and easy
