Wife went yesterday to get Truck serviced. They noticed a nail close to sidewall.Patch and plug held air.Told them to swap the tire from spare wheel.Simple,I'd think. She doesn't pay any attention, comes home and has the whole spare tire AND wheel mounted on front.TEMPORARY USE ONLY?Tire is identical. So the nice rim is under the truck.2016 limited.Charged her 39$

    So for your afternoon exercise,

Take what's now the spare and put on the rear. (plugged unit)

    Put the spare away.

Put what's on the back now on the front.

Drive the truck, kiss your wife and thank her for having the oil changed, move on with life.

I don't see how the spare would be a temp use tyre as its a full size.
Just only a steel wheel, so not as nice looking lol.

The more you mount and unmount a tyre though the worse it is for it, so I can see why the dealer didn't want to do it.
What I don't understand is you said they patched it and it held air? So why not just leave the patched one on then? Although I'm surprised it was patched if it was that close to the sidewall.
