Once in a while..

 

Jeff how is the rockfish population doing? when I was a kid I lived in Md. and remember you could not fish for them in any way.

 

Yup.
Caught a half dozen trout this morning.
Already 70 out, supposed to get above 80.
Need to go to Bass Pro in a bit and pick up some Gamakatsu circle hooks for stripers.
Then more yard work.

Happy Easter hope everyone has a great day. Rain finally stopped here and hoping the yard will finally dry out so I can finish cleaning up all the winter junk off it. Sun is out for the first time in a long time. Did get the screens cleaned yesterday and put back in, only down to 45 last night so got some fresh air in the house. In a little bit will head down to the grocery store and see if they have any chocolate bunnies on sale yet for lunch Getting tired of eating salads.

 

I switched from 2# line to 4# line on my trout rods a few years back as I can no longer see 2#.
Even with cheater glasses, i had a hard time tying hooks on today.
At least with my salt water rods I'm using 15# to 40# line that I can see.

I use 30 pound braid on everything now.
I need to move rocks sometimes

 

Never got into the braid myself.
Been using green Big Game on my salt water set ups for years and am pretty happy with it.

 

I need 2 and cut them open to go over each post of headache rack when I put cover over truck. Tore a hole in it last time.

 

thanks I was wondering maybe some to cut down on wind noise. like filling the ladder rungs with spray foam.

 

I'd rather have the snakes than the rodents in the shed. (Now if I find any copperheads, timber rattlers, or anything else poisonous, that'd be a whole different story)

 

Hey Bob, I haven't gone out yet but this year but

I haven't been out this year but seems okay from what I hear. Maryland is promoting catch and release this year more than ever. I think the limit is one fish per day until June and then it bumps up to two per day. I gotta brush up on the regs, I haven't even got a license yet but then again I'm a lousy fisherman. What part of Maryland did you grow up in?

Have to go to the M/FIL's for Easter Dinner... Who in the heck eats "dinner" at 2 pm? And for that matter, who eats ham to celebrate resurrection of the King of the Jews? That just feels wrong somehow... Seems like we ought to have something a bit more kosher.

 

We're having homemade barbecue with all of the fixins. Not exactly a traditional Easter dinner but what the heck!
