Depending on how much weight you're going to put up front you might want to look at 886s.

 

All I'm planning on is a bumper, most likely aluminum but possibly steel. I'm leaning towards Pelfreybilt but that's a ways down the road. It'll be the stock one for a while, no winch

 

888s or 885s will do then.

Stressing my stock suspension so it's time for an upgrade.

Considering the OME 885 nitro charger and full Dakar leaf kit to support my constant 720# payload.

Will the Dakars support the 720# payload?

Will the 2" 885s level out the front with the Dakars in the rear supporting the 720#?

So I have 882's I got used up front on my double cab four banger. They gave me too much lift. I'm thinking of going down to 881's. Will this level my truck out? Right now I'm a little higher up front.

I'm currently running Nitro's all around. Dakar Leaf Pack. 882's up front.

 

The full Dakar pack will support the load and for a DC 4x4 they net about 2.75" of lift. So 885s won't get you level. You'll need 887s for that plan. But would you not want to maintain some rake?

OME says 2.75" - 3" out of the Dakar cs047r then the added

d29xl leaf adds roughly 1/2"

Looks like the 885 and 887 are both 590# springs so the only difference is the length. So both could work for me depending on what I get out of the Dakar cs047r and d29xl leaf carrying this load.

If I pull the trigger on the OME set I'll get both sets of springs just in case

 

You'll get anywhere from 3.5 - 4" with the Dakars and

D29XL leaf so yes, rake will be maintained with this setup. If you're on the fence with both springs, just get the 887s. Both will settle and it sounds like you're set on having 3" up front.

 

I'm not set on having 3" in the front. I'm on the fence between the two springs because I'm unsure on how the Dakar+

D29xl leafs are going to sit with the 720# payload. No load produces 3.5" per OME. With the load, I don't know. I'd prefer a 2" set up all the way around to avoid issues with other parts (UCAs, ecgs) however, the rear set up with the Dakars is dictating what I do to the fronts. That's where my question sits, between the 885s and the 887s.

 

Then omit the AAL and just do the Dakars out back with 885s in the front. That will give you about 1" of rake. If you do go with the Dakars + AAL you will most certainly need the 887s or it will look awkward with the ass end way up. 887s with Dakars will get the truck fairly level. There are threads dedicated to each set up that gives you an idea of what to expect.

You can remove the long overload spring from the Dakar pack without reducing the load capacity. If you have 720# all the time go with the add a leaf in the pack and 887's. You may even want to go with 888's. (Yes they will fit and will be closer to 3" than 887's)

I checked out your set up. Looks great! I also have a DCLB 4x4. How's that BP-51 set up? Are you running 275s?

285's. They are very nice. My only complaint is crawling into the wheel well to adjust the comp and rebound. Dont need to do it unless I change stuff but I am constantly changing things.

 

Newb question of the day, gonna ask it here since I'm working with an OME setup - due to an issue with my Dakars I won't be able to install those for a week or so - should I wait till then to have the alignment done so the truck is sitting level / intended rake instead of the bro-lean I've got going now (tail saggin). Not sure how they measure caster, so with the truck at a significantly different angle than it'll be sitting normally wondering if that'll throw it off.

 

TOTAL NOOB TO SUSPENSION! HELP!

I have a 2017 TRD OR DCSB and am looking at doing a small lift here towards the end of the year. My requirements and details are as follows:

• I want only approximately 2" of lift, even a little less is okay. I also want to fix my taco lean.
• I will likely be putting 265/75/R16s on because this is a daily driver that sees 40 highway miles per day for my work commute.
• I will be adding a Leer 100XR and a DIY Drawer system and plan on adding full aluminum RCI skids and also their sliders. All in all I am thinking these items will amount to around a 500# constant load.

At this point I am thinking I will be doing with the 887 coils, 90021 shocks and the standard dakar leaf pack, not adding or removing a leaf.

• Do you think I am making the right decision?
• Will I need UCAs? If so, what do y'all recommend?
• Do you guys recommend I do the front diff drop or ECGS or both?
• Are extended brake lines necessary?
• What else do I need or do you recommend?
