Doesn't look like you're running stock wheels. Offset matters.

Smitty is right, the "safe" answer is 265s. I did a lot of research and got my 275s to work no problem. The biggest issue with 275s are the limited selection of tires in that range.

Sorry was going off the profile pic didn't see the other.

I run 4Runner pro rims with 275/70/17 KO2s and rubbed my OEM flaps on hard turns. Took em off and fine now.

If you watch the video, that guy basically heat guns his liners out of his truck and he still rubs. That video is great advice if you're into being annoyed with 33s.

Frustration? Aren't we all on this forum to answer and ask questions?

People get tired of answering redundant questions. I answered your questions politely but you can see where you were getting some smart ass replies right out of the gate. Tread lightly, read, research and learn before posting new threads is my advice. Also check the forum rules and such for noobs. It will probably help you.

You did. So that's why I questioned the frustration. Seems pretty juvenile to be honest. Take care.

stock wheels I wouldn't go bigger than 265/75R16.

I have trail edition 4Runner rims, +10 lower offset and 17". I THOUGHT I had 265/70r17 tires (I requested that from the dealer) but they actually put on 275/70R17. I have a very very slight rub only on full lock, when the vehicle's weight is transferred to the offending corner. That being said, 265/70R17 shouldn't rub at all

After glancing at this thread, I think I need to stand in Smitty's corner. A LIFT does NOT change the truck's minimum ground clearance (usually measured from the differential to ground). A LIFT only raises the body. The purpose of a lift would be to install LARGER diameter tires, as THAT is what provides more minimum ground clearance.

Oh, and for the record, an Off Road TRD has 16" wheels, not 17" so I don't see why there is any 17" figures in here (did I miss where the OP is not using stock wheels)?

The largest tire without a lift or without ANY mods (such as the video showing a hair dryer in action), is a 265/75-16 (~32"), which is 1" taller than the stock 265/70-16 (~31"). There may be others, but 90% of us with the Off Road staying stock or near stock use the 265/75-16 tires... and magically, the speedometer reads correctly (but the odometer slows about 4%).

    Looks great.

I realize this post is old but are is there any scrubbing with the 265/75/r16?

I currently have 265/75 R16 on my 4x4 Off Road, nothing changed on suspension and no rubbing.

You could check out this page which also has good links. It will explain the possibility of 33" on stock setups. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-skinny-on-skinny-tires.529656/
