yesterday I removed my bilstein 5100s and raised the clip from the third position to the fourth position. so the front went from 1.75 to 2.5 inches of lift correct??? then I installed the spc upper control arms. anyone familiar with these , what should I set them at before I take it in for an alignment? should I set them at the 2.0 caster position from the print out they give you??? any help would be great thanks

If you dont adjust your caster to what your truck needs many shops will charge you a premium to set the UCA's. I paid for the Lifetime alignment with firestone and they refused to touch the upper control arms unless I paid them more for a "Custom" alignment. I'll be adjusting mine and taking it back in sometime to correct a little rub near the cab.

for that lift you might go one notch more than 2.0* of caster. Then slide the ball joint ALLL the way out to the edge of the UCA (this will allow easier replacement of the ball if need be in the future). Then get an alignment and shoot for 3* of caster and -0.2 to -0.4* of camber even on both sides. Should be easily dooable.

What @nd4spdbh said is my plan. Take it from 2.0 to 3.0 caster and see if I still experience any rub. Once I move up to 285's I'll prob have to move it to 4.0 to fit with little to no rub and probably still need to do a CMC to eliminate all rub.

Wtf ? After I put the caster to 2 it still rubbed, I just dropped the truck off today to get an alignment I told them to set it at 0 toe 0 camber and 2.5 to 3 caster I will get the truck back tomorrow and I hope it doesn't rub anymore

if you have 285/75R16 sized wheels.... you will rub....

You might be able to cheat forward by getting caster out of the LCA pushing it forward, but you will still rub when suspension cycles..... those who say their 285's dont rub at all never actually flex their truck out.

So this is what I got out of an alignment from the dealer they said they got it as close to what I wanted, I told them 0 toe 0 camber and 2.5 to 3 caster so can someone tell me if this is OK or not , I'm going to go pick up the truck now

Yeah those are the numbers you want to shoot for. Any other rubbing will require you to cut stuff.

Looks good. Only flexing and driving will tell you how the rub will be. If you still have major rub at the rear of wheel well or when flexing at the firewall you can use the SPC arms to get more clearance.

Just remember that if you use the spc's to stop any rubbing, you will have to use a lower caster setting on them to push the tire away from the firewall. Then you would obviously need another alignment after that
