Either of these will work

 

~$80 for an alignment
~$200 to $300 labor (max) usually a shop will charge $100 per side if you can't do it yourself.
~$400 for 5100s and new coils.

Not sure if I'm forgetting anything.


Although I'd recommend a lifetime alignment at a place like Firestone which goes for about $180 because you may change suspension down the road and need more plus new suspension can settle where you'd like to get it dialed back in.

I'm in North Carolina. I have a buddy with a shop so I'm not overly concerned about labor, I usually pay in beer and assist with the job, that seems to work out great.

I went the cheap route and put a 2" block kit in the front of mine. I currently sit about .5" nose high. Do yourself a favor and if you really want to enjoy your vehicle, spend a little extra coin on an actual kit. At the moment, my ride quality around town is similar to my old F250. I'm currently pricing out a new kit to get rid of the blocks less than a month later. Not to mention I'll have to get a second alignment. Do it right the first time, and learn from my ignorance! (I certainly never have)

I put 6112 adjustable coilovers on my truck (did a write up you can see in my sig block) and it was a great improvement over stock for offroading...if you don't plan to offroad much it's probably overkill

 

I think its a bit overkill, I have some land I drive on to hunt/fish/shoot guns (Merica!) but other than that not a whole lot I do in my tacoma due to the fact its a 4cyl 2WD.

Most definitely overkill then...but I still would not get spacers. Talk to the vendors I mentioned, they can give you some professional feedback, pros and cons of various options as well as pricing.

This was my concern when buying shocks. I bought the 6112 kit and wanted to clarify with Bilstein. They said the coils they send are 650lb and the preloading is minimal compared to stock coils. So that sold me on the 6112's vs. Trying to find an appropriate aftermarket coil with the 5100's.

I'm going to lift the front to level out the truck. Should I set the clips to 5&4 to compensate for sag? That should put it at 1.5", which might make it slightly nose high.

I could be completely wrong. I did speak to Mark Waite and I thought he said 650. I work for another division of Thyssenkrupp who owns Bilstein. Not that that matters except I can get direct info. Let me email him and get the eight answer.
