Okay, I'm new to this and exited as sh%$ to finally do something crazy. My wife and I just had a honeymoon in Thailand and totally got bit by wonder lust. Being in the Bay area we learned to slave for a rent and overall developed a distaste for the life style. We have been planning for some time, preparing and fantasizing. We plan to take 3 or so months to drive around the US exploring the fruits of our land. We have been slowly converting our single cab 4x4 into quiet the cool little ride. I hope to hear from this awesome community and get some ideas.

    Montana has a rat race?

But really, I am envious. I'd love to live there

Yeah, I must work close to 30 hours a week in the summer, driving my truck through the woods to help keep rich people's forests healthy

And in the winter, I must work close to 20 hours a week teaching snowboarding.

Sometime you just gotta get away!

Thank you all for your response. It's crazy, just Last year I was surfing TW and other threads fantasizing about all these awesome trucks. Now here I am. Just told my boss today about our journey. She took it well. Gave me a fat raise until I leave (who'd thunk it). Hope to have updated photos soon. Currently working on camper shell living quarters.

Ha this is it the wife and I are a week into our epic journey and have already had the craziest time day one we camped on the beaches at the Pismo dunes next we saw family in LA then family in SD only to be surprised with tickets to watch the sf Giants stomp the Padres(sweet stadium), Then to joshua tree national(bizarrely beautiful), then to Arizona for more family visiting. Tried to teach the wife how to drive manual to no avail lol so yes, I'm driving it all(thanks Megan). Next up the amazing Sedona and boy the colors were just that amazing. After that the Grand Canyon and now I'm sitting at Meme's the best cafe in Springdale(Zion National Park) enjoying breakfast and wifi. Next up is Bryce National Park. If interested in following us look up Lovegrowsroots.Com and see more pics and a blog the wife writes.

As a proud new owner of a Taco 4x4 how could I not make a trip to Moab while in Utah. Boy was it a cool place. Only issue was it was the same weekend as the huge Jeep Sefari event meaning super inflated priceing for everything. Got to take the taco to the Gemini Bridge trail(easy) with no real congestion (yay). Didn't want to take our house on ko2's on anything to demanding being that it is our home from home. Arches was amazing as well. We must make it back to the Moab area for some real wheeling some day. Now visiting some more friends Littleton Co.

I like the stock steel wheels. I think they look great on that setup, keeps it "real"

You referred to your truck as your "house", so I assume you're sleeping in it? Where/how do you shower? Legitimately curious. Maybe you could post a few details about any mods you've made to your truck?

Thanks, and I join the ranks of those jealous. Live it up bro.

Edit: Found your blog. I'm checking it out now.
