Any reason to wait for 2018 models to hit dealerships over buying 2017 now?

looking at 2017's pretty heavy. 2018's should be coming out in 5-6ish months, right? Is there any solid reason to be patient and wait till they hit the lots?

we haven't heard of any changes yet.
So can't really say. For the 2017 we got a power rear window. and a double cab short box off road (for canada at least)
I waited because I needed the double cab.

Not sure what they'll have different for the 18s, unless they fix the problems on the 16/17s

The 18s are supposed to have the Safety Sense stuff, so if that is important to you wait, otherwise snag a 17.

snag a 17 when the 18s come out and get them as dealer clear out and get it cheaper, cause financially smart.

Actually don't do that, go buy a 2017 then trade it for an 18 when they come out.

ha drive the 17 for 6 months then trade it for an 18? That doesn't sound half bad except the part where I have to pay sales tax twice. :(

like I said, not financially smart lol.

for what its worth, I have a 17 DCSB off road with 5200km on it so far (got it in january) and I love it.
Power window is whatever, maybe come summer I'll use it more. Not really sure what would be changed.

Toyota doesn't usually do many changes in production throughout a gen. Not like GM where every year is something new.
If they end up coming out with that birds eye view shit on the rav4 on the 18s I may have to make a trade lol.

Do the '17's have the same issue with constant shifting on the interstate? My buddy has a 2016 and it's always hunting for a gear at the slightest incline.

Thanks. I had a black 4Runner and clean it was great. But it was rarely clean..silver is awesome. Wish the cement gray wasn't only for the TRD Pros. But I'm happy. And if it lasts as long as my other Toyotas one of my kids gets this one

Mine came with the update. I had to schedule my truck to know as I was curious and they had no way of telling me. But no gear hunting. I drive really chill with the window down and my arm out the window so it's plenty truck for me.

Heard rumors the 2018 automatic will come with taller gears in rear end 4.30s and all transmission issues will be fixed. Squeezing an extra 50ft/lbs of torque out down low end of powerband. Also offering a green color PineMistMetallic
