    Are floor mats a mod?
No it's just like all the others in how it attaches.
    However
In the future, I might cut the stock mounting tabs which are about 14 ga off and weld on 3/16.
If I ever get my welder back.
    Seems pretty solid tho.
I verrry slightly tweaked the outer tabs last year winching out of the mud pit at surprise lake, but this bumper has a better tie back to the frame at the sway bar bolts so we will see.

I'd never use the winch without frame reinforcements...14 ga or 3/16"

Confused. What specifically do you mean? This, and pretty much all aftermarket bumpers mount to the stock frame mounts and tie back to the 1st square frame member, then tie back to the frame at the sway bar mounts.
Can you send a pic of what u mean?

Glad to hear. Do you have one?
I can't believe the front mounting points on the tacoma. The 1/8" plate with the 3 studs. It doesn't seem like there's a lot of strength there. Can anyone enlighten me on how it's able to mount on these points without breaking them off during a winch?

Ties back to the frame underneath. Pretty strong.

All they have to do is avoid a twisting motion. With no twist, the weak point is the line. 6x3/8" studs vs. 1x3/8" wire rope.

Define "twisting motion." I wouldn't think the studs themselves are a weak point, but the thin flange they're on.

Because the drum sits higher than the studs. It creates mechanical advantage, just like using a longer wrench. I'm not sure how to better explain it without drawing a picture. My words are not working.

Basically, yeah. The strongest would be if the line ended up coming out of the center of the frame rail when you looked at it from the side. That's obviously not gonna work for a high clearance bumper though.

Basically there's leverage pulling down on the studs, rather than straight out.

Great now my mount is weak and mechanically disadvantaged...
