    No hood scoop is functional. Top of the hood is negative pressure. That's why hood louvers work to cool. Scoop = Looks, and boy do they look good.

    Didn't help the current scat packs any. Ram Air is a marketing term, only benefit is maybe cooler intake air. Once heatsink sets in it doesn't matter anyway.

    I used to have a better article, but the short of it is with a properly designed scoop, which would look nothing like what you would ever want to have on your truck, at 90mph you would have 1% increase in power, 2% at 158mph, and 3% at 200mph. Article also called it dirty HP because of the lowering of aerodynamics.

    Scoop technology is tough.

    The ones that come on the TRD Sport are non-functional but if you buy the one thru RK Sport Hoods it is functional and made out of fiberglass!
