Well, the right truck finally came along and my old car died all at the same time SO, over the weekend I picked up a 2017 Taco with the sunroof, JBL package, toneau cover and predator steps. I LOVE it! Been sifting through the forums and have a couple outstanding questions I was hoping you guys wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction or if its a pretty simple answer, just chime in...

1 - Entune Audio and iPhone 6. They don't seem to play so nice with each other. I can get the entune system to read an incoming text (sometimes, its hit and miss) but have not figured out a way to get it to display an incoming email. Any advice on that one?
2 - Is it possible to blow the speakers in this truck? Any quirks I should be aware of to look out for?
3 - Any general tips that really helped you guys out when you first got your truck? (If not listed in the tips and tricks sticky)

    Thanks All!

1 - I don't use the email feature so I have no answer for this one, sorry :(
2 - Every speaker ever made can be blown
3 - Changing the unlock setting to unlock all doors rather than just driver side was one of my first and favorite features.

    Enjoy your truck!

I find that if you close the messenger app on the phone. It will show texts all the time.
I don't think you can have the Truck read the email.

Concur. The only messages that don't pop up on entune are the ones that come in when the app open.

Ive found the speakers are odd. I'll get rattley distortion with some talk radio, AM and XM, but music with much deeper base response plays clean all day long and all the way up.

I'm not in my truck atm to tell you exactly, but its under the settings options on the screen. Relatively easy to find if you dig around for it for a couple of minutes. The option is obvious too.

Page 592 in the manual tells how to get to the customization screen and the pages following show what can/can't be changed.

Thank you! I bet that is the inconsistency issue with the messaging. I think I had the app open on the phone for some of the troubleshooting.

Does anyone know if it is possible to REPLY to a text through Entune?

I changed that setting the first day! Still having some issues with the door handle sensor though. Touch once to lock, OK, awesome. Come back to the truck later to get in and touch the sensor and it locks it again instead of unlocking it right away, so you have to touch, release then retouch to unlock. Is this normal behavior?

Walking up to locked truck I just grab the handle and it unlocks. Are you touching it then grabbing it? (giggity) If so stop doing that. Just grab it like you're going to open it, it should unlock.

Yes that's the right behavior I made the same mistake. That touchpad you can see is to lock only, to unlock ignore it and just pull the handle. The touchpad to unlock is on the inside of the handle.

You lock by touching the ribs on the handle. You unlock by putting your hand between the door and the handle like your grabbing it, to break the connection to initiate the unlock.

Have you found a way to reply to those incoming text messages via the truck?

    No I haven't.
    I'm not sure that's an option. I don't think I've seen a keyboard.

But maybe with the iPhone app but then your using your phone anyway.

Or maybe with voice command. I dunno.
